PRICELESS MEMORIES

Your wedding photography is priceless, so give it the consideration it deserves by enlisting the professional services of someone as passionate about it as you are. A multi-award-winning and highly experienced photographer, Peter Prior focuses on creating images that are as timeless as your love story to ensure an album you’ll treasure for a lifetime.

“Your wedding album will be far more than a set of pictures,” he says. “I will have created a piece of family history that will be a priceless heirloom for generations to come.” Peter will seamlessly blend into the background in order to capture the entire range of emotions and moments of the day. “My aim when photographing a wedding has always been to produce timeless, natural and elegant images that capture the soul and essence of the occasion without being intrusive,” he explains.

Tailoring his packages to suit your photography needs, Peter will shoot your event for as long as you’d like, with prices starting from £895. Choose from a range of album collections or a digital-only option, all with a secure web gallery to enable you to share your photographs with your friends and family. Should you wish to upgrade your album or opt for the gorgeous RAW Book – a fine art artisan album handcrafted in Italy – rest assured that Peter’s beautiful images will be showcased to spellbinding effect.

FRESH FROM A FAIRYTALE

The setting of many love stories during its 600-year history, Powderham Castle specialises in unfeasibly romantic weddings, combining historic charm and stirring rural beauty with a wholly bespoke approach. Situated near Exeter, the exclusiveuse venue is available for a variety of events, whether you wish to host a humanist ceremony in the gardens, a rustic-chic party in the Riding School or a lavish reception in the castle.

WORDS OF LOVE

“Remember that a successful marriage is like farming: you have to start over again every morning.” H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Its beauty is not just to be found in its buildings and dream-like setting, but its versatile range of spaces. Along with the majestic castle, there are three more fully licensed venues to choose from: the idyllic climes of the Woodland Garden complete with a Gothic pavilion; the rustic charm of the old Riding School, perfect for couples seeking a relaxed barn wedding; and the striking Belvedere, an 18th century tower atop a hill that presents jaw-dropping views across the estate and estuary.

Couples seeking an outdoor wedding will delight in the array of spaces such as the pretty, scented setting of the Victorian Rose Terrace, the picturesque lake-side garden of the Riding School and the fairytale beauty of the American Garden and its wooded glade of exotic trees. There is also a choice of marquee sites scattered across the grounds, including the deer park and by the lake.

A plethora of indoor options allow you to celebrate in style whatever the weather and season, whether it’s amidst the oak panelling and open fire of the State Dining Room or the light and character-filled Libraries with their panoramas of the gardens and deer park. Or you might fall for the romance of the Music Room with its estuary views and glorious domed ceiling. With every type of celebration tailored to ensure a day as distinctive as your love, a wedding at Powderham is a dream-come-true venue.

VINEYARD ROMANCE

A Grade II listed house in a picture-perfect setting, Brickhouse Vineyard in the south Devon hills had already stolen our hearts. Set amongst 20 acres of fields and woodland, including vines that produce around 3,000 bottles of wine each year, it’s a unique venue brimming with rural romance.

Four years after the venue first opened its doors, major renovations to both the Round House and the Barn mean the wedding offering at Brickhouse Vineyard is even more impressive.

Licensed for civil ceremonies, the beautifully restored Round House is set on a landscaped terrace, providing a natural outdoor aisle through a wildflower meadow overlooking the vines. Couples may choose to follow the vows with a drinks reception on the terrace, taking in the sublime countryside views before moving onto the newly restored 18th century Daisy Wheel Barn. Combining traditional and modern architectural design, the space boasts a unique synthesis of rustic charm and stylish elegance. Flooded with natural light, features such as the open-vaulted oak beam roof and contemporary bar make it an ambient space for a wedding breakfast.

“Our wedding options include everything you’ll need to ensure a well-planned, smoothly run and super enjoyable wedding experience,” says owner Joanna Pisko. “We set out to create an amazing vineyard wedding experience perfect for romantic elopements, intimate celebrations and barn weddings for up to 60 day guests and 100 in the evening.”

Whether it’s just the two of you, or you’re planning a party with all your nearest and dearest, you’ll be looked after by the dedicated wedding team and enjoy exclusive use of this exceptionally beautiful corner of Devon – the dream venue for country-loving couples with an eye for design.

DEVON DELIGHTS

Nestled on the fringes of Dartmoor in west Devon, Coombe Trenchard is a sanctuary of natural beauty and timeless elegance. Stirringly beautiful spaces can be found throughout the Arts and Crafts country house estate, from the restored Edwardian gardens and woodland to the house itself, flanked by the Coach House, Clock Tower and Italian Terrace – and now The Peacock Bar has added to its charms.

Coombe Trenchard has long celebrated the bounty of its glorious grounds – with many couples styling their day with flowers from owner Sarah Marsh’s cutting garden – and The Peacock Bar is a natural extension of this approach. With impeccable attention to detail, Sarah has created a carefully curated collection of drinks from the highest quality south-west producers as well as a selection of wild cocktails and mocktails infused with homegrown fruits and botanicals from the venue’s meadows, orchards and hidden kitchen garden. Fine organic spirits include scented geranium vodka, elderflower liqueur, crab apple gin, and lavender limoncello. As pleasing to the eye as to the tastebuds, each drink is beautifully presented, served in eclectic antique glassware from the elegant house collection. Just imagine the euphoria of taking your vows and toasting your union with a stunning signature cocktail such as a Rose Tom Collins, Dartmoor Tini, Garden Party or Lavender & Lemon Gin Fizz.

And there’s more. The newly launched ‘Coombe Trenchard House Collections’ are designed to offer further character and deliciousness to your day. From ‘The Luxury Dartmoor Ice Cream Bar’ and ‘Sweets & All The Treats Station’ to a ‘Hot Chocolate Bar’ and ‘Afternoon Tea Table’, you can look forward to delighting your guests with a veritable feast of delectable local flavours in this picturesque corner of Devon.
