Introductio Marco Polo went n and explored Mongolia and China.
Why Marco Polo is famous Marco Polo was born in Venice, Italy 1254. He is famous for going into China and Mongolia farther than any European had. In 1271, when he was 17 years old, he travelled to Asia with his father and uncle.

When he got to Asia he became a favorite to the Mongol emperor Kublai Khan. He roamed through Mongolia and China for 17 years. He had travelled farther into China than any other European had. He travelled through the Silk Road to China.

When he got back in Venice, he became a popular storyteller.

Conflict In 1298, there was a conflict between Venice and Genoa. Polo was captured by the Genoese and they imprisoned him.
