ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT 2020
In September of 2020, more than 125 golfers set out to play 18 holes of golf on the picturesque links of Cherry Valley Country Club, Skillman NJ. It was a beautiful day and $35,000 was raised in support of need-based tuition assistance.
VIRTUAL MEMORIAL MASS
Members of the Notre Dame community were invited to join us virtually for our annual Memorial Mass on November 7. The Mass was offered by Monsignor Walter Nolan and was available to view on the ND YouTube channel. A slideshow that included the yearbook photos of our deceased alumni, faculty, staff, and students was also available for our guests to peruse.
1ST ANNUAL NOTRE DAME TURKEY TROT
Our First Annual Turkey Trot was conducted as a virtual run/walk from November 20-28 and was a huge success. 174 people participated and $4,000 was split between two charities in the area: Mt. Carmel Guild and Senior Care Services of Greater Princeton.
VIRTUAL WREATH MAKING EVENT
On December 15, we offered alumni, parents, and ND friends the opportunity to join us for a Virtual Holiday Wreath Making Workshop. Cate Buecker ’20 and Cynthia Yank ’20, employees at Carroll’s Christmas Tree Farm, shared step-by-step instructions on assembling your own wreath.
VIRTUAL COOKING WORKSHOP
Notre Dame hosted a Virtual Cooking Workshop on March 1 at DeLorenzo’s The Burg. Owner and Chef Tyler DeLorenzo ’12 instructed 143 virtual attendees on the step-by-step process of making cheese gnocchi in cream sauce.
ANNUAL AUCTION
For the first time in 34 years, our Auction was virtual. On March 19, we transformed the ND foyer into a broadcasting space and “Zoomed” the Auction live to 75 families. The link for the silent auction was live two weeks before the event and there was spirited bidding right up to the close of the auction. $60,000 was raised with a portion of the proceeds used to create a new Campus Ministry Wing.
VIRTUAL ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME
Rather than delaying this event originally scheduled for April 2020, the Athletic Hall of Fame was virtual last year. President Ken Jennings offered a welcome and prayer and Athletic Director, Rich Roche, introduced each nominee who shared their acceptance messages. Congratulations to the 2020 inductees including Korinne Campbell ’06, Dave DeCamp ’08, Todd Henderson ’99, Nancy Hines ’93 Donigan, Noel Harrison ’97, Blaise Lezynski ’11, Ed Moran ’99, Lauren Primerano ’98, Joe Wyers ’65 (in memoriam), Coach John Archer, Special Contributor Robert Wood and the 1987 Baseball Team.
CASH BINGO
As COVID-19 restrictions started to lift, we quickly put together Cash Bingo on May 7. The community was so excited to get together that this event sold out in one week. We utilized the tent in the back of the school and we were able to sell tickets for a max in person capacity of 120 people.
ALUMNI GOLF TOURNAMENT 2021
Over 100 golfers came out to the green for The First Annual Irish Cup Alumni Golf Tournament on May 24 at Mercer Oaks Golf Course. Congratulations to the winning foursome of Stephen Patas ’16, Kyle Caccavale ’16, JP Brady ’16 and Matt Sellers ’17. Save the date for next year’s event on May 23.
