AMCCOUPE SIMULATED STUDIO ///
brendensullivan.blogspot.com
///CONCEPT STATEMENT A simulated studio charged with resurrecting the legendary American brand. Split into teams of five, we were charged with designing a full updated range for AMC- coupe, sedan, roadster, and city car. Drawing inspiration from classic American muscle as well as vintage European beauty and elegance, I was responsible for penning the flagship performance coupe and overseeing the overall styling direction of the new model line.
AMC is back, channeling the raw, aggressive beauty of American muscle and Italian flair

UNDERARMOUR F1 RACING BOOT ///
brendensullivan.blogspot.com
///CONCEPT STATEMENT F1 racing represents the pinnacle of performance and technology in the world of motorsport, yet one key ingredient has been seeminly neglected: the footwear. Improving the system of interaction between boot and pedal can facilitate razor sharp precision of foot movement, a great advantage in a sport where fractions of a second are the difference between wins and losses.
Design a seamless F1 pedal and boot system to maximize driving precision and accuracy
brendensullivan.blogspot.com
CLOSE UP
THE PROBLEM With an extreme driving position and a sparse and utilitarian footwell, the driver is left to his own devices to fight the intense lateral g’s (f1 cars are capable of pulling 6 g’s in the corners). Any unnecessary variables in F1 can chip away at race times.
brendensullivan.blogspot.com
BENCHMARKS Current offerings focus on delivering a thin sole for better feel, but do little to address the crucial balance in the interaction between foot and pedal.
What kind of system could alleviate this problem?

PEDALS 1
2
Current pedals remain entirely geometric in shape; there is no consideration for the shape of the foot or racing boot. The design proposed here factors in the shape of the sole in addition to providing a perfect resting place {a} for the contours of the redesigned shoe. Tracks in floor panels {b} guide the shoe to the pedals. Old vs. new in profile. {a} The current system places the foot in a proverbial no-mans land. It is left to it’s own devices to weather the harsh forces and vibrations of the race track. The redesigned shoe alleviates this in two key areas- {b} the ‘wings’ of the shoe are cradled in the newly designed pedal. {c} The rear ‘fin’ rests in a shallow track to provide a second level of security.

BOOT 1
Interior of sole is composed of a thin rubber to maximize the driver’s touch and feel on the pedal.
2
Chrome ‘wings” and ’fin’ tip provide a solution that is both eye-catching and rigidly functional.
3
Upper is comprised of lightweigh, breathable leather and a nomex lining for fire resistance.
4
Carbon fiber structure is not just an homage to the popular F1 racing car material; the tooling is super lightweight and incredibly strong to withstand the rigors of racing.

LAUNCHINGLANCIA A NEW FUTURISM ///
brendensullivan.blogspot.com
///CONCEPT STATEMENT Ignite Lancia with the creation of a bold new design statement. Blend a new brand philosophy - the ideals of futurism - with a stylish new conceptual direction. Execute a flagship coupe to highlight this.
Launching Lancia
beyond its past into a new future.
brendensullivan.blogspot.com
OLD
A TARNISHED BRAND An exciting and historic brand with legendary beauty and racing prowess has all but dissolved. Nearly extinct in the minds of car fans, current offerings are rebadged Chryslers and rebodied Fiats. Reboots have tried and failed to capture the public’s imagination in the same way as the Group B rally superstars.
NEW
brendensullivan.blogspot.com
CAPTURED DYNAMISM With a massive jump, launch Lancia into a new future. Acknowledge the past but push the brand into the forward. Harness the principles of futurism to conceive a new brand language. Futurism was an artistic and social movement originating in Italy in the early 20th century- glorified themes of speed, technology, youth, and violence. Disdain for the past, celebration of the new. The works sought to capture objects in motion, without boundaries.

TVRARTEMIS ///INTERIOR
brendensullivan.blogspot.com
///CONCEPT STATEMENT Mechanical Fascination: The Artemis is an all-electric concept designed to set a new standard in aesthetic articulation of what an electric vehicle can represent. It provides a visual representation of the flow of electricity from the power source to the vital components of the cabin.
The intricate intersection of sweeping, organic forms and harsh, angular mechanical treatments
brendensullivan.blogspot.com
INSPIRATION Blackpool’s iconic nameplate is reborn in otherworldl fashion, inspired by the biomechanical forms found in nature and science fiction imagery. The artemis concept from TVR derives its name from the Greek Goddess of birth, harnessing the sentiment in more ways than one.
