There were j u s t about a dozen people on t h e panel, which was s e t up i n a p a r t i t i o n e d area o f f t h e d e a l e r s room, and t h e p a n e l i s t s included Mercy, Rich, Ken, Mitch, Chuck Nanco, a couple of guys named Bob and Mario, and a few more people no one knew. I n t h e audience were Dennis C i e r i , Jim Shooter and G i r l f r i e n d Debbie Fix, Harry and maybe f o u r dozen o t h e r t r i v i a l fen. The panel had been preceded by a s m a l l a u c t i o n run by Seuling a t which he dumped as much of h i s slow-moving merchandise as he could. During t h e proceedings, one k i d almost had t h e s h i t pounded o u t o f him, though - and r i g h t l y s o , S h e l l y Mayer happened t o be t h e r e , up f r o n t with Seuling, doing some sketches which were auctioned o f f , When a magic marker drawing o f S c r i b b l y came up, Seuling asked w h a t he w a s bid f o r it; a k i d i n t h e f r o n t r o w , maybe 11 o r 12 y e a r s o l d , shouted: "How much a r e you gonna pay m e t o t a k e it?"
