Statement from the Board of Trustees

Since July 2010 the bureau has been informed of a £335,000 (30%) reduction in funding, as major contracts are scaled back or discontinued in the financial year beginning in April 2011. The Trustee Board met on 24 February 2011 to discuss Brent CAB’s funding position. Mindful of its legal obligations to oversee the prudent management of the bureau’s finances, the board resolved to begin a budget reduction process which will require a number of redundancies. The Trustee Board deeply regrets having to take such steps and is mindful of the effect this will have on service delivery to residents of Brent. The Board also regrets the impact this process will have on the loyal and committed staff at Brent CAB and is determined to conduct a fair and transparent redundancy process.
