The origamic wall was inspired by my passion for the art of origami. This project called for the ĐƌĞĂƟŽŶ ŽĨ ĂŶ ĂƌĐŚŝƚĞĐƚƵƌĂů ƐĞƉĂƌĂƟŽŶ ďĞƚǁĞĞŶ Ă ďƵƐLJ ƐŝĚĞǁĂůŬ ĂŶĚ Ă ƋƵŝĞƚ ĐŽƵƌƚLJĂƌĚ͘ ƐƚĞƉƉĞĚ ĞŶƚƌĂŶĐĞ ǁĂƐ ƌĞƋƵŝƌĞĚ ĂƐ ǁĞůů ĂƐ Ă ƐĞƌŝĞƐ ŽĨ hand rails. As an opening project to the semester of my 4th year of architecture school, we began by designing a pavilion for the sculpture garden of the Sheldon Art Museum which is located on hE>͛Ɛ ĐĂŵƉƵƐ͘ dŚĞ ĞŶƟƌĞ ƉƌŽũĞĐƚ ƌĞƋƵŝƌĞĚ ŶŽ submission of drawings or diagrams. The intent was to focus on using models as a method ŽĨ ĐŽŵŵƵŶŝĐĂƟŽŶ͘ dŚƌĞĞ ƐƚƵĚLJ ŵŽĚĞůƐ ǁĞƌĞ ƉƌŽĚƵĐĞĚ ďĞĨŽƌĞ ƚŚĞ ĮŶĂů ŵŽĚĞů ǁŚŝĐŚ ŝƐ ƐŚŽǁŶ ŽŶ ƚŚĞ ůĞŌ͘ dŚĞ ĮŶĂů ĚĞƐŝŐŶ ƌĞƉƌĞƐĞŶƚƐ Ă conceptual link between the site and its ƌĞůĂƟŽŶƐŚŝƉ ƚŽ ƚŚĞ ƐƵŶŬĞŶ ŐĂƌĚĞŶƐ͘ ZĞĂĐŚŝŶŐ ŽƵƚ over the primary entrance to the garden, the pavilion invites the public into the world of art.

5th Year Architecture Studio 2014 Vivacity Detroit is about merging the familiar with the unfamiliar - Life and Healthcare. The gap between these disparate worlds causes ĚŝƐĐŽŵĨŽƌƚ ĨŽƌ ƚŚĞ ƉŽƚĞŶƟĂů ƉĂƟĞŶƚ͘ dŚĞ ĐŽůĚ and stringent interiors of common hospitals leave the user feeling distant and estranged in the healthcare environment. Vivacity Detroit ŝŶŶŽǀĂƟǀĞůLJ ŝŐŶŽƌĞƐ ƚŚĞ ƐƚĂƚƵƐ ƋƵŽ ŽĨ ŚĞĂůƚŚĐĂƌĞ architecture. Vivacity is not healthcare, it is lifecare: familiarizing the public with health services in a cohesive manner that merges the boundaries between the two.

Architectural Intern 2014 The Nature Conservancy’s Niobrara Valley Preserve is one of the largest preserves in the United States. With such a stature as this, the client hired HDR to develop a contemporary design that would act as the center for the ŽŶƐĞƌǀĂŶĐLJ͛Ɛ ŽƉĞƌĂƟŽŶƐ ŝŶ EĞďƌĂƐŬĂ͘ dŚĞ ĚĞƐŝŐŶ ŶĞĞĚĞĚ ƚŽ ĂĞƐƚŚĞƟĐĂůůLJ ďůĞŶĚ ǁŝƚŚ ƚŚĞ ƌƵƌĂů environment of the prairie while simultaneously drawing the tourist’s eye. The original conceptual design was lead by William DeRoin, a design ĂƌĐŚŝƚĞĐƚ͘ / ǁĂƐ ƚĂƐŬĞĚ ǁŝƚŚ ƌĞǁŽƌŬŝŶŐ ƚŚĞ ŝŶŝƟĂů design - interior and exterior - for AIA submissions. dŚĞ ƌĞƐƵůƟŶŐ ƌĞŶĚĞƌƐ ĂŶĚ ĚŝĂŐƌĂŵƐ ǁĞƌĞ produced using Vray for Rhino and Adobe Photoshop.
