History of The Duckworth Home The year was 1905. There were only 45 stars on the flag, Theodore Roosevelt was serving his first year as president, and Albert Einstein was introducing the theory of relativity to the world. That same year in Brevard, John Duckworth was building his home on the corner of Silversteen and Caldwell streets. Today, more than 100 years later, Duckworth’s home is still considered the finest example of Queen Anne Victorian architecture in Tansylvania County.
