Design process
IMMERSION Phrasing the requirements for later evaluation. Research for similar products or analogous solutions. Setting up a mood board which showcases inspirations and possible design features.
IDEATION Determining the different directions of further development than making sketches and form-studies based on them. The first evaluation process, where the best 3 ideas are shaped into concepts.
CONCEPTUALISATION Defined main dimensions, materials, photorealistic renders and a more detailed design feature list are the outcomes of this phase. Validation and evaluation through prototypes, then selecting the best concept for further development.
05 DEVELOPMENT
EVALUATION
Creating the final design by identifying the best geometry and functions. Making solid models using CAD, defining the partitions and joints keeping in mind manufacturability concerns. The results are inputs to the DFM phase.
The product development process ends with the final evaluation, which is assisted by presentation materials and high-fidelity prototypes for the more accurate validation.

BRIEF imagiLabs is a Stockholm-based startup company who reached me to create a user-friendly, aesthetical housing for their already existing hardware, which was a smart phonecase with an LED matrix. Later on the concept changed and the subject of the product development process became a standalone smart accessory, which fits into the palm of the hand.
IDEATION The ideation sketches contained both the phone case and the standalone modul directions as we wanted to test which product concept would be more successful amongst the target group and would fit more to the startup’s future perspective.
09 EVALUATION With the previously set up requirements we were able to select the three best concepts amongst a dozen of initial ideas, which were suitable for the further development.
The evaluation was assisted by handdrawn sketches, digital sketches and lo-fi 3D printed form studies in order to have a more accurate assessment of each concept.

CONCEPTUALISATION In this phase the best three ideas and their variants from the previous selection had been elaborated, paying distinct attention to the partitions and internal arrangement.
11 PROTOTYPING Experimenting with different materials, colors and shapes were essential key elements of the developing process. Not only for the validation of the design, but for gathering feedbacks from a focus group, featuring girls between the age of 13 - 17.

FINAL CONCEPT The final product features a translucent plastic cover over the smoked glass screen in order to achieve a more plain look. Also as it should be a wearable accessory we had to figure out the way of attachment. Here the best solution was the usage of a string, which runs all over the perimeter of the device in a groove, than a bead, which pinches the string.

After a successful Kickstarter campaign we had the opportunity to enter into the design for manufacturability phase, where based on the feedbacks of the manufacturers the design varied in a few points and some additional features, like the channels in the sides were added.

READY FOR MASS PRODUCTION After a successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter in 2019 imagiLabs was able to send the device into mass production and in spite of the pandemic situation all around the world, the imagiCharm launched in the Spring of 2020.
imagiCharm went live
By the end of 2020 we can welcome more than 3.000 happy customers mainly based in Scandinavia and the United States. „The particularly ergonomic gadget was designed by one of Dóra’s former high school classmates, designer Máté Brezovcsik. ImagiCharm and the application went under a lot of finetuning until they reached their current form, and this process also included the opinion and business priorities of the ImagiGirls.” - read more about the story on hypeandhyper.com

PACKAGING DESIGN I was asked to make the packaging design as well, where the main idea was to have on the box a resemblance from the device, also an enhanced unboxing experience by a well-thought design.
The box entirely made out of paper, decreasing its environmental footprint by not using any plastic.

As one of the main design features of the device is the groove on the sides, it appears in a way on the box too, emphasizing it with a distinct color.

Integrated Product Design III.
BRIEF The semester project focused on single lever kitchen faucets, where we had to came up with fresh and unusual designs while keep in mind all the related standards and restrictions. The main challanges of the project were the implementation of the faucet cartridge and the connecting handle.
Unique design features of the final product are the unusual triangle shaped cross-section and the faucet cartridge in a recumbent position. The plain surface on the top of the faucet allows to store smaller items during the washing-up, like spoons or other cutleries.

BRIEF The main aim of this semester project was to ellaborate the interior design of a grand tourismo car, using high quality materials, like wood, brushed aluminium or magnesium. The analog instrument cluster represents the sportish, yet elegant style of this car, which is surrended by displays.
27 DEVELOPMENT The group were divided to three and each group had to focus parts of the interior, like the door panel, the center console and the dashboard. I was a member of the dashboard team, where we all had to came up with individual design concepts, and in the selection process the group voted to my concept to send it to the prototyping phase.

ADAPTATION After the selection process we had to joint the winning concepts, where the proportions and some design features has changed. The most of the modifications occured at the center part of the dashboard, where the original climate controls switched to a touchscreen and at the falling part of the aluminium inlay now encloses a tray.
PROTOTYPING
33
After the adaptation we had to visualize the final concepts in real life scale. The base of the model was blue foam, what we divided into sections to have rough outlines of the dashboard, than glued them together. The finising of the surface was made by sand papering.
The outline of the steering wheel was made by laser cutted wood and the middle part and the spokes were 3D printed, as well as the ventillation grills.

Integrált terméktervezés III. Innovative pendant lamp with homogeneous LED illumination in three different sizes for homes, smaller offices or lobbies as decorative lighting

Thesis
BRIEF The subject of my thesis was a development of a pendant lamp which uses a new construction solution, where the LED filament runs in the center of a polymer hollow section. This way I was able to develop a lamp family with a modern, pure shape, which could easily remind us to the old fluorescent lightings. The lamp family has a unique aesthetics, what couldn’t be seen in the market nowadays.
IDEATION The core design features of the lamp were: • • • •
classic, rigid design the ability to work as a main lighting of living rooms and lobbies modularity pure design - „Form follows function”
The final concept featuring moveable joints for increasing or decreasing the enlighted area. The joints are covered in white plastic to achieve a plain look, where the diffuser and the covers aesthetically blend together. The lamp family contains three different versions in three different sizes, which could serve the lighting needs most of the rooms, resulting a more unified interior design.

CONSTRUCTION The LEDs are sorted onto an aluminum bearing, which slides into a polymer diffuser. The LEDs are aligned as to cover the cross-section with proper amount of light to achieve a homogenous light distribution, what fluorescent lightings have. One of the joint’s nest is fixes the bearing, the other one allows a 20-degree rotation to the other arm.
