HEALTH AND WELLNESS POMONA, CA
Pomona is home to surface pavement with little connection to the outdoors. The project aims to provide a connection back to the community by providing much needed green space. The structure acts as an overall tree that provides shade, enabling people to exercise visibly in public. Stacey White, Arch 351

OCEAN VIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ARROYO GRANDE, CA
Bringing back nature and allowing it to be a teacher for students was a guidig force in our design. We implemented nature-inspired tactics, such as wind walls, growing beds, water collections, and greenscape into the school through zones. With each zone being a distinct function and identity of the landscape. Kelle Brookes, Arch 253 collaboration with Aleksa

Outdoor Learning Environment: Water Collection/Planting The outdoor learning environment was to address the issue that kids don't experience the outdoors as much as they should. As well as adressing the water problem that exists in the school, we propose a system of collection, planting, and interaction between the natural environment and the students.

RHYZOME-PLANKTON TIBURON, CA
Plankton pods are a layered experience supported by rhizome structural branches. Plankton provides a podular experience for ocean performers and researchers. Elevated off the ground, the double-shelled steel plankton relies on the Rhizome for structural support and circulation, creating an efficient and interconnected branching network. Tom Fowler IV, Arch 353 collaboration with Clark Cyr

PLANKTON TIBURON, CA
3rd Year Best of Show 2017 Participant
INTERPRETATIVE CENTER CAYUCOS, CA
Tiburon is home to a family of researchers dedicated to the preservation of the ocean. Located in San Francisco Bay, the project takes inspiration from nature, specifically from the ocean. Plankton are a fascinating creature and acts as an inspiration for the structural expression of the project.
The aim was to allow for a greater understanding of the site. The ideation of the design was derived from the truths of the landscape. Using concepts of shift, merge, and layers; the project was able to achieve both form and experience that is beneficial to the understanding of the state park.
