Conceptual layout of the greenway with connection to the in parkway. Showing shape and the use of space in the median.

Conceptual Designs for the buildings connecting to greenway.

The Median of the site had been proposed as a greenway in the city. To show local art and also a design that would be unique to the city to provide a destination to locals and visitors. The proposal shows the space as an art focused center and also a space that resembled a park also. Design Competition-Salt Lake City, Utah, Urban Design Project


Location: Salt Lake City, Utah Design Competition Theme: The overall theme of Salt Lake City as I began to design wasfocusing on the arts. Within the perameters of the project the there were a local art school and also theater and a dance school which had given me as the designer inspiration. One of the goals that I had set for this project was utitlizing the talents in the local city such as scultural elements to tie in the main theme. This would not only show the talents of the students but alsoto show the community how important art is in the community.

Local art such as these concepts would be created by local students to be placed throughout the site. This showed uniqueness of the of the city and also brought an overall theme in the city.

Hope Commons- Planting Design


Simple Conceptual of paths for the bridges.

Conceptual designs for the bridges that would be a main attribute to the site. EachConceptual had begun by a simple shape that would lead into thefinal design of the bridge. Utilizing the previous stones would be a fountation that would help stabilize the bridge that students and locals to use on the site. Not only would it be an important aesthectic feature but also it would be functional also. Beginning the process of designing where the bridges would be placed simply came from the overall plan view of the site. By drawing lines of pedestrian pathways gave the key sections of where the paths and bridges would be placed. Basic layout of the bridges. Utilizing the stones to add foundation for stabilizing the bridge for the use by pedestrians.

Hope Commons- Planting Design


Utilizing the space as a destination means to provide seating in the site. Usig simple shapes, the circle fit best in the location on the east side of the site. The plant Material choosen was the Heritage River Birch because it not only fit great aesthetically but it also would grow well in the site.

Concept Proposal To create a space for multiple users connecting students andfacility tonature by designing a space that is aesthetically pleasing andfunctional.

Goals and Objectives: -Connection between residential halls to Hope Commons -Using native vegetation with minimum to no maintenance -Providing seating with sufficient shading. -Designing a space that is inviting and accessible to all users. Conceptual designs of the layout of steel container that would be a focal point in site.

The schematic process within the project had taken many sketches and designs to come up with the foundation for a plan. One of the main focuses was put upon the steel beam that would be placed directly in the center of the site. The steel beam was the focal point that would generate the final layout . Looking at connection points and also use of plant material then would be the next part of the design of the memorial.

Internship & Experience


Summer going into my Senior year I had interened at Central Nursuries in Johnston, RI. I began doing Landscaping, installations, construction and basic landscaping. Once I had been given the opportunity to show my design work from the studio I was put on my first design job. I was taken to the site located in Greenville, Rhode Island and from there I would take measurements, pictures, inventory and a general site analysis to provide help in the design process.

Independent work I designed and installed within my yard. Created a small rock garden for taking different materials such as plant material, stones, and planting pot. Also using differentcolors of texture to provide a visual appearance that was exciting, natural and calming for outside enjoyment.

EXPERIENCE Central Nursuries Inc. 7 Morgan Mill Road , Johnston, R.I 02919 Designer/ Maintenance and Construction Crew Member -Designed and learned the installation process -Used power equipment such as pruner, and drove company truck to job sites and delivering material that was needed. -Provided details and renderings for projects that would be reviewed for acceptance of the project -Learned grading, proper use of equipement, and also different techniques of landscape maintenance and client specifications.
