FINDING THE GOOD LIFE. beyond the glossy surface extends another L.A., where a healthier life for both people and planet are at the top of the agenda. For directions, we met some of the city’s most dedicated guides.

Her cook book is called ”Hollywood dishes”, which literally says it all. The Akasha restaurant in Culver City opened in 2008 and is created to be as organic as a restaurant can be. Not only concerning the menue. Chairs of organic leather, a bar made of local limestone, recycled ensilation, and no less than eight kinds of organic vodka behind the bar make the concept complete.

I två år reste de runt i Italien och längs USA:s västkust för att lära sig allt om kaffe och kombinationen av dessa två kulturer skapade deras egen rostningsmetod. People is drawn to Los Angeles for two reasons: the weather and Hollywood. Everybody will for sure get their share of sunshine, but the limelight is only for a few. I am used to be able to walk down my street and say hi to my neighbours. Here it’s not so much like that. It’s always changing, so I guess people don’t feel like it’s worth getting to know anybody, as they won’t like be here tomorrow.
