“ The voice of the light remains ever so faint; images quiet as ancient constellations float across the dome of my dawning mind. They are indistinct fragments that never merge into a sensate picture. There would be a landscape I have not seen before, unfamiliar melodic echoes, whisperings in a chaos of tongues. Haruki Murakami, Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World

SCAFFOLDING

WATER SYSTEM

The scaffolding around the building was made from timber

Big holes were digged to get water for the mortar, and to collect water for houses, going in through a pump connecting water hole and building.

REINFORCING CONCRETE In order to make a solid construction, we had to reinforce the concrete on all corners and transitions. We made the reinforcement by hand using a timber beam with nails attached to bend the strong ar mature into squares before they were placed inside the wooden casting construction.

MORTAR

FACADE

We mixed mortar on-side manually, made of earth and gravel from the site.

The entrance facade on one of the 8 aulas - only the door has not yet been mounted.

SEMUC CHAMPEY As part of my stay in Guatemala, I went to several destinations during the weekends to see the grand nature and explore the cultural history. Semuc Champey is a natural monument in the department of Alta Verapaz, Guatemala, near the Q’eqchi’ Maya town of Lanquín. It consists of a natural 300 m limestone bridge, under which passes the Cahabón River.

DEVELOPING THE CONCEPT T his early sketch model was an examination of our three movies in question: Eter nal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, 12 Monkeys & PlanĂŠte Sauvage.

NARRATIVE As the conce pt unfolds, our ideas ming led together. At this state we are beginning ly moving into spatial conclusions, and are soon to meet the challenge of recomposing the chosen movie-scenes, bringing them to life once ag ain.

CREATING A HOLOGRAM After tr ying out various techniques, we developed this wired cube dressed in numerous layer s of tulle to imitate the ef fect of a holog ram.

THE ROOM OF HAZE Our final project model was this g rand metal construction. It was placed in a totally darkened room, and the presentation itself was a light/ sound installation projected into these endless holog ram cubes.
