Let Love Glow

Did you just get engaged? If so, congratulations! This is an exciting time, and it calls for a proper celebration! What better way to celebrate than by throwing a fun and unique engagement party alongside your closest friends and family? Look no further than Texas Weddings Magazine’s annual Valentine’s Day party for inspiration. After all, Valentine’s Day and an engagement party share a common theme - the celebration of love.

For this year’s event we wanted to do something a little different than the conventional Valentine’s Day aesthetic. However, we still wanted to incorporate the traditional Valentine’s Day elements like pinks and reds. This is how we came up with “Let Love Glow” and there was no shortage of exciting and eye-catching attractions for guests to enjoy!

One highlight of our Valentine’s party was a selection of giant LED yard games, including cornhole and chess that illuminated red and pink lights. The games provided a fun and welcoming experience for guests, and were strategically placed in the front yard to catch their attention and give them a first look into the night ahead. For your engagement party, consider choosing colors like white or your wedding colors (if you’ve already decided on those) for the LED lights. This will give your event a unique and personalized touch that reflects your own love story.

The invitations asked guests to dress in white or neon, as they would be entering a dark room with blacklights lining every wall over the course of the evening. The room encompassed a unique attraction set up by A Fancy Wall that had guests oohing and awing as their drinks and desserts revolved around the room via a built-in conveyor belt system. Imagine yours and your fiancés favorite drinks and desserts revolving around the room for guests to enjoy.

Trends

Both adults and children had fun taking photos of (and even more fun eating) the delicious cotton candy provided by Sweet Thang

Cotton Candy as the fluffy treat glowed due to special cones that came with each twirl. One of three flavors included watermelon with a sour topping option.

Marion DuBose, a very talented violinist, played the instrumentals of popular songs and fan favorites while guests gathered around, and the courtyard glowed with pink and red LED cocktail tables. Children painted glowing art under a blacklight tree that had an individual canvas, easel, and brush set for each child.

Consider taking all these elements and making them your own for your engagement party! Maybe instead of “I love you” cotton candy toppers, you could incorporate your last name or wedding hashtag. Have the charcuterie board be filled with yours and your fiancés favorite desserts and treats. All the LED lights can be set to your chosen wedding colors. There are an abundance of ways to customize this fun and trending party theme, and don’t forget to send us pictures!
