Choosing the right wedding dress for your body On your wedding day you want to look like and feel like a princess, your bridal gown is going to be the focus of the day and you want to get the dress right. You want a style that is *you* that is flattering and that suits your body shape. At Bridal Secrets we want you to look and feel great, so we have put together a list of what dress styles will suit your body shape best.

For a plus size bride – an Empire dress with a skirt that begins just under the bust and flows into a gradual floor-length A-line, look for a style that isn’t pleated (it will look more like a maternity dress) – you want to show your shape, if the dress is too loose it will add kilos. The Mori Lee 6767 bridal dress is available up to size 28 and has crystal beading edging with Alencon lace over chiffon.

For a *pear shaped* bride – look for a skirt that gradually flares out in an A-formation from your waist to the floor. This helps highlight the narrowness of your waist while floating away from your hips and thighs. A V-Neckline or a spaghetti strap bodice shows a more slender upper body. Our Maggie Sottero bridal gown *Selma – CS* is a lovely beaded embroidered lace over tulle in an A-line style with a v-neckline.

For an *apple shaped* bride - A dress that hugs the smallest point of your waist and then flares to a gradual A-shape is perfect for you. Look for a bodice that has a lot of texture to it and a deep V neckline will draws eyes towards the vertical not horizontal. The Sottero Midgley Danica bridal gown has a fitted bodice with Swarovski crystals and a beautiful flowing tulle skirt.

For the *busty* bride - A wedding dress with a scooped neckline opens your face and shows your décolletage while not showing too much cleavage. If you want a strapless gown choose one with a sweetheart neckline – rather than one that goes straight across – it will make your bust look larger. Our Maggie Sottero Kadee bridal gown has a sweetheart neckline with a tulle gown and beaded lace bodice and is available through to a size 28.

For the tall bride – You want to emphasize your natural shape, so every aspect of your bridal dress needs to reflect the length of your body – aim for a simple silhouette – a floor sweeping hem and lower waistline and try and keep the dress simple. Our beautiful Maggie Sottero Westly bridal gown is an A-line gown with lace bodice, long flowing with a floor sweeping hem.
