For my design I chose to use light bulbs as the design driver. Light bulbs are a symbol of ideas and light. Light is used as a way finder. Going down the path towards success involves a lot of cross roads, so a straight path is not always clear. With innovation, there is the b big g picture, and then there is all the small details that need to be explored explored. d. Taking apart a light bulb and implementing it into o the design can be applied throughout the layout of Next Hub and in the furniture e and

This house was built with Vail, Colorado in mind. It's purpose was to accommodate the owners of the house as well as potential people that would rent it out as an AIRBNB. The house was designed to work with the climate and style around Vail. Revit was used to create and design the exterior and interior part of the house. Photoshop was used to add the surrounding vail areas and some art.

The Camp Dawson Army National Guard Military Base Health & Wellness Center (HAWC) 20reston County West Virginia, is being created to accommodate service men/women and their immediate adult family members living on the base. The Military Fitness mission is to “Enhance combat readiness by supporting unit commanders’ fitness program and provide fitness and sports opportunities to all authorized users.” The new HAWC facility will supplement the existing fitness center, but will facilitate a holistic approach to physical, mental and spiritual health, with a focus on wellness maintenance and lifestyle choices. The mission of the HAWC is “Healthy and disciplined wholeness of the mind, body and spirit”. The user group and location demand adherence to military security issues and compliance with GSA and Federal purchasing standards. Compliance with ADA Title II Guidelines is required.
My vision for the HAWC is a facility that promotes self help. With the idea of GRIT it will encourage the military patients to be comfortable with receiving help. HAWC will be a facility that encourages Grit and will foster it as its motto. For some military members, they many not admit that they are struggling and need help, however, HAWC wants to take the essence of grit and use it in a way that helps them think of being able to tackle their own personal goals head on. Metaphorical imagery of a mountain will surround the facility to keep the theme of GRIT in the minds of the people. The space is for helping people recover. Interactive activities throughout the facility will make the patients look at giving it their all, persevering, taking time to get it right, and ignoring giving up. The healing process begins at HAWC and will leave them at the top of the mountain that they climbed as they go through trials and errors of recovery.

The hand renderings were used to be able to enhance communication skills with potential clients. These renderings are drawn with pencil, pen, and markers. They are used for preliminary views for spaces. The Barcelona chair was used for a study based on Mies Van Der Rohe.

Project 2 was about forecasting the future of learning for the company, Aberrant Architecture. This company wanted a report on the future of education spaces for children at an early age. The Montessori school is a type of pedagogy that is known to provide learning spaces that create a sense of tranquility and independence. This type of school creates future innovators with their teaching methods and how their classrooms are designed, which is what Aberrant Architecture is aiming for. Montessori classrooms are very clean and simple in terms of colors and furniture so that the children can be immersed in their activities, free of decorative distractions that can take away from their learning time.

Determining fa ffashions shions and fa ffads ds fo fforr these ty ttypes pes of classrooms required research on how they are ttypically ty pically constructed. Clean lines with natural have woods and white fu ffurniture rniture hav a e been a constant av style sty t le reused fo ty fforr many years whereas organic shapes and accent colors are ty ttypically pically shortt lived schools within these classrooms. Montessori school ols aim to create a home-like environment fo fforr the e children so that they do not fe ffeel el out of place. Simplicity t and minimal are tw ty ttwo o words that drove this fo fforecast recast because the emphasis is on the lavish activities fo fforr the children, not how lav a ish in av design the classroom can be fo fforr aesthetic different purposes. Through research of diff ffe ff ferent pedagogies, Montessori schools help the child develop the independence and fo fforward rward thinking having skills by hav a ing the classrooms be structured in a av simple manner that eliminates the ty ttypical pical “ruffles “ruff ffl ff fles and fr ffrills” ills” that tend to make certain classrooms stand out more
