Craig Ogden’s

Guitar Weekend 2015 Hi Everyone! Welcome to my third Guitar Weekend at The Bridgewater Hall. I am delighted to be joined for a three-day celebration of the guitar by a colourful list of collaborators and musical friends. We kick off with Tommy Emmanuel, an Australian – like me, who plays steel-string guitar with mesmerising skill and invention. Other guests include the charismatic Katona Twins guitar duo and the BBC Philharmonic with Juanjo Mena who join me for an orchestral concert which includes two guitar concertos. We welcome back old friends too; the fantastic Aquarelle Guitar Quartet and lap-slide guitarist and song-writer, Tom Doughty. With a host of free foyer activities, as well as a chance to participate in an ambitious Guitar Jamboree family concert, also with an Australian theme, there is something for all ages and levels of expertise. Please come along for a feast of guitar music, and please read on for a full programme listing. I hope to see you at many of these wonderful and inspiring events. Best wishes, Craig

Guitar Marketplace During the festival luthiers James Lister and Oren Myers will display a selection of their finest wares with a chance to learn more about the art of guitar-making and to try some new instruments. Forsyth’s music shop will also have a range of music and guitar accessories for sale.
