About all-weather rattan Bridgman offers the most luxurious rattan garden furniture, that is completely maintenance free and guaranteed to look good year after year. A combination of the best materials and most advanced production techniques ensures that Bridgman rattan furniture is resistant to extremes of U.V., heat, cold, chlorine and salt water – and above all else, stylish and comfortable. Bridgman’s 2014 ranges consist of over one hundred and fifty different pieces in many different weaves, giving customers the widest possible choice from the largest selection available in the U.K. All the furniture is manufactured to a high standard, using materials that require minimal maintenance. The furniture will retain its’ beautiful appearance for many years. Each piece of all-weather rattan furniture is constructed with a powder coated aluminium frame. The sturdy frame is covered with a high quality synthetic weave which is skilfully hand woven to create an attractive, strong and durable piece of furniture that is fully weather resistant. Bridgman rattan furniture requires minimal maintenance. The aluminium frames and all-weather rattan ensure a trouble free life. The weave is strong, flexible and durable to high and low temperatures. The only action necessary is a simple wash using a solution of warm soapy water or our woven cleaner. Bridgman’s rattan furniture is entirely suitable for almost any location. Cushions for all-weather rattan Cushions are automatically supplied with all our rattan furniture in the colours shown or stated. The cushions are sumptuous, deep and comfortable and entirely in keeping with the luxurious feeling that is created by our all-weather rattan ranges. The cushion fabrics are amongst the best that can be used for outdoor furniture and are colourfast and stain resistant. Covers can easily be removed for cleaning if required. Whilst the odd shower will not damage the fabrics or fillings, these cushions should not be left outside in wet conditions.

Waterproof Cushions Bridgman has developed an exclusive range of waterproof cushions that allows them to remain outside on the furniture throughout the season. These cushions are automatically supplied on selected models or available as an option where indicated. The top quality Acrylic fabric is completely waterproofed with a special membrane that will not let water through the cushion surface. The fabric used is also Teflon treated, making it almost impossible to stain. In order to breath, the cushions are vented, so a small amount of moisture will be absorbed inside the covers. In normal conditions this will quickly dry out and will not be noticed. Lifting or turning cushions to allow circulation of air is recommended after extended periods of rain. In the unlikely event that the fillings become saturated the covers must be removed, to allow the fillings to fully dry. Bridgman waterproof cushions can be left out during the spring and summer months. They withstand hail, rain and sun.

Careless spills, dirt and contamination can be simply wiped off. It is recommended that waterproof cushions are stored in a dry place over the winter months. Please ensure that the covers and fillings are dry before storing. Please note that the colours of our standard and waterproof fabrics are different and should not be used in areas where an exact match is required.

Table tops and Glass To ensure ease of use, all dining tables and some occasional tables are supplied with separate pieces of tempered safety glass that are placed on top of the weave and prevented from moving easily by small plastic discs.

Teak Bridgman has been designing and selling Teak garden furniture for over two decades. Genuine Teak (Tectona grandis) is the premier timber for outdoor furniture. Teak combines its’ beautiful appearance with a strength and durability that is unequalled by any other timber. Teak has a close grain and a naturally high oil content that makes it both stable and resistant to rot. All Bridgman Teak furniture is made with the finest kiln dried plantation grown timber from completely reputable and legal sources. Each piece of furniture in this range has been designed and developed by Bridgman, using the experience and expertise gained over many years of manufacturing furniture. Meticulous care has been taken at every stage to create the various unique features that epitomise Bridgman style and innovation. Much of the construction of the furniture is carried out using methods that are entirely traditional, but further enhanced with the advantage of modern and advanced manufacturing techniques. Traditional solid brass fittings feature on many pieces. Where extra strength is required, zinc plated steel fittings are incorporated. Both materials are entirely suitable for exterior use. The combination of old and new procedures ensure the highest standards of production and the ultimate quality of the furniture.

Environmental Issues The Teak Bridgman uses for its’ models comes mainly from the island of Java in Indonesia. It is grown in plantations and we are pleased to give our assurance that our Teak does not come from tropical rainforests. The plantations are nearly all owned and controlled by the Indonesian government department, Perum Perhutani. The Teak originates from plantations that were first established in the Indonesian islands about 150 years ago, by the Dutch. Perum Perhutani now manages most of these plantations, applying a policy of strict and careful cultivation, which began in the nineteenth century and has continued successfully to this present day. Bridgman maintains a policy of promoting good practice with regard to the origins of their timbers.

Aftercare of Wood All timbers used in the making of our outdoor ranges are classified as “Very Durable”. Our IROKO and TEAK furniture leaves the factory untreated. Dependent on personal taste, a prompt decision will need to be made regarding whether or not to treat the timber with any kind of wood finish. To help maintain a more original appearance, the furniture should be treated with an application of Bridgman Treatment, or any other suitable product, always carefully following the manufacturers’ instructions. It is not necessary to treat the wood to ‘preserve it’. Treating the timber simply slows down the weathering process. If left untreated, the furniture will gradually turn an attractive Silver Grey colour, which is an oxidization of the surface. Small cracks may appear, especially on the end grain, but these are perfectly normal characteristics and will not affect the strength or durability of the timber.

When re-treating the furniture it is essential to first clean it to remove any dirt, using either a scrubbing brush and warm soapy water, or a jet wash. Cleaning is absolutely necessary otherwise a new application of treatment will seal in any dirt or marks. When completely dry, lightly sand the surfaces. It is particularly important to sand off any weathered areas, before re-treating. Weathered & Cleaned

Bridgman offer a selection of traditional wooden garden benches in Teak and Iroko in several different sizes. Bridgman Park benches use only the finest plantation grown teak. Traditional manufacturing techniques are used to make strong substantial pieces of furniture that should last for decades. All Park benches are supplied untreated and are fully assembled in our factory prior to delivery. Club Benches are good quality lightweight Teak benches that are ideal for domestic use. They are available in two sizes and will be an excellent addition to any garden.

Reclaimed teak Bridgman offers two substantial tables, made from high quality teak that has been reclaimed from old buildings and disused railways. The old timber has been given a new lease of life by being crafted into heavy duty dining tables with chunky legs, yet signs of its past use remain clearly visible. Each table has different characteristics including knots, old joints, pin holes, splits and other distress marks,giving each piece of furniture a unique look. The tables are supplied untreated, so as not to spoil their rustic look and charm. Left untreated outside they will slowly turn an attractive silver grey colour. Many of the chairs in our ranges, both traditional and modern, combine beautifully with these tables to make magnificent dining sets for indoor or outdoor use.

This medium duty umbrella shades a large area and can be easily wound up and down and adjusted to different angles as required. The complete umbrella can be rotated through 360째 without the need to move the base. This model is supplied with a medium duty almond fabric and comes complete with a light weight cover when the umbrella is not in use. Each umbrella is supplied with either a resin base or a metal ground sleeve depending on customer preference. When 90% filled with water, the resin base gives a total weight of approx. 100 kgs. The umbrella must only be used when the base is full of water. Sand can be added to the water if extra ballast is required. To create a permanent underground fixing, the metal sleeve needs to be installed with a suitable concrete base under the ground. The hole depth needs to be at least 60cm.

Important Safety Information Cantilever umbrellas must only be used with suitable ballast to weigh down the base. Where a base is not included, we suggest using 4 flagstones, 45cm x 45cm x 5cm with a weight of 25kg each - a total of 100kg.These are not supplied with the umbrella and must be purchased separately. (They are readily available at most garden centres and builders merchants.) Cantilever umbrellas must never be left up at night or erected in breezy conditions, and must always be safely anchored.

Guarantees Bridgman 10 year and 3 year guarantees Our commitment to quality ensures that all Bridgman products are designed and manufactured using the highest quality materials and production techniques. We use some of the world’s finest craftsmen to ensure that our furniture will last for many years. We do not cut corners on raw material costs, ensuring that the durability of Bridgman furniture is first class. To underline the confidence we have in the quality of Bridgman furniture, most of our ranges benefit from our extended guarantee as detailed below.

All Seasons Rattan – 10 years Wickerline Rattan, Teak and Aluminium – 3 years

We undertake to guarantee these ranges for two years Parts and Labour plus a further one or seven years parts only from the date of purchase, against faults in the materials or workmanship. During the initial two year period products will be repaired or have parts replaced at the discretion of the Company free of charge. During the additional one or seven year period, parts only will be replaced. The terms of this guarantee are listed below. Guarantee Terms • The product must not have been misused or handled carelessly, nor been damaged, neglected or used in abnormal conditions. • The product must only have been used for normal domestic purposes and not for any commercial or contract use whatsoever. • The product must not have been modified or altered in any way and no repairs having been attempted other than by a member of Bridgman staff. The guarantee will be valid only if maintenance has been carried out in accordance with Bridgman aftercare instructions. No responsibility will be accepted for any defects to furniture due to the application of teak oil, treatment or stain or any other cleaning or aftercare products. • The word “faults” referred to in this guarantee means imperfections that impair the utility of the product. The guarantee does not apply to normal wear and tear caused by regular use. Damage such as dents, scratches, marks or similar imperfections are not covered. Slight fading of rattan weave is normal over longer periods of time. Small cracks and splits in wooden furniture are normal and do not affect the usability of the furniture. • The guarantee does not cover damage, loss, or other conditions beyond Bridgman’s control such as damage resulting from unauthorised repair, infestation, negligence, misuse, improper handling or abuse, acts of God such as: wind damage, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fire, and any other events due to natural causes and damage caused by the improper or inappropriate use of an umbrella. • The 10 year and 3 year guarantees only apply to the ranges listed in this guarantee and purchased after the 1st September 2013 and are valid only for the UK mainland. • If a particular product or part is no longer available, Bridgman reserves the right to use an alternative product or part as a substitute for the product or part being repaired. • Bridgman parasols, cushions, covers, Iroko furniture and upholstery fabrics are excluded from our extended guarantee and come with a one year guarantee only. • This guarantee cannot be assigned. • This guarantee only covers those rights listed above and does not cover claims for consequential loss or damage. • Prior arrangements needs to be agreed directly with Bridgman before a product or part can be returned together with proof of purchase, before any repair can be carried out. • If a returned non-faulty product does not arrive to us in a resalable condition, we will not be able to offer a full refund. We will make a deduction to reflect its’ condition and refund any remaining balance. These guarantees are offered as extra benefits and do not affect any statutory consumer rights. Any complaint will be investigated and if confirmed as a fault in materials or workmanship under the terms of this guarantee, Bridgman at its’ sole discretion will repair or replace the product or part concerned. Bridgman’s decision on how to resolve any complaint will be final. Any product or defective part replaced shall become Bridgman’s property. Can the furniture really be left outside all year? Yes, all our furniture is made with materials that can remain outside all year long, in rain, snow and sun. Cushions should be taken in during wet weather. Waterproof cushions can remain outside throughout the summer. (see page 5)

What is the all weather wicker made from? It is a polyethelene based extruded fibre that is strong, flexible and durable. The material is U.V. and weather resistant having been tested to -70c and +80c. The wicker will not split or crack and will show no noticeable signs of fading.

From what is the frame work of the wicker furniture made ? Good quality tubular aluminium, finished with powder coating to ensure a long and trouble free life.

Can I have different colour cushions? Each range has itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s own colour cushions to compliment the weave and are not interchangeable.

I want a table from one range but prefer the chairs from another, can I have them both in the same weave? All our ranges are individually designed for the relevant weave and are only available as shown in this catalogue.

Do I have to cover my furniture? No, Bridgman furniture is made to withstand all weather conditions. You may wish to cover it to keep it clean, but it is otherwise not necessary.

Do I have to treat or maintain my furniture? Our all weather wicker furniture will only ever need washing down with slightly soapy water if it gets dirty.

If the cushions become dirty or stained, can I clean them? Nearly all our cushions have removable covers and we normally recommend cool washing. Please refer to the aftercare label found on each cushion.

What if anything goes wrong with my furniture? Bridgman has been making and selling furniture for over 30 years and has an enviable reputation throughout the industry.
