In the 26-time PRCA World Champion’s first venture into the stallion business, Brazile taps 2008 Wimpys Little Step-bred palomino stud.

After decades of evaluating the best horses in the industry at rodeo’s highest levels, 26-time PRCA World Champion Trevor Brazile partnered with Oklahoma’s Miles Baker to buy Show Me The Buckles, the 2008 AQHA stallion by Wimpys Little Step out of the Topsail Whiz mare Sunset Whiz.

This marks the first time rodeo’s winningest athlete has entered the stallion business— indicating his unprecedented belief in Show Me The Buckles' ability to produce top-tier horses across the Western performance disciplines. “He has won $162,000 in the National Reining Horse Association, but that really isn’t the reason we bought him,” Brazile said. “I’ve never wanted to own a stud more than Show Me The Buckles because of the experience I’ve had with his colts. They’re the right kind of cowy, they’re fast and their trainability is second-to-none. These genetics are the pinnacle of what I want in a performance horse.” Show Me The Buckles is notably the sire of Tuckin Away Buckles, the standout buckskin 4-year-old Brazile and Baker call Dagger. Brazile won the Badlands Bits and Spurs 4-Year-Old Heading Futurity on the colt, and in just four outings, Dagger has won over $26,000.

“Dagger is exceptional in that he doesn’t have a hole,” Baker said. “He’s the kind of horse the best guys in the world could ride at the NFR or the kind that someone could enjoy as a family horse and go to the World Series ropings on the weekends.”

Brazile and Baker will prioritize stallion incentive enrollments with Show Me The Buckles, already paying himand his offspring into the Royal Crown Rope Horse Incentive Program. Through that program, Brazile and Baker showed Dagger to a $12,800 outing at

the Royal Crown Futurity in Rock Springs, Wyoming, in August 2021.

"The rope horse incentive programs are one of the keys to the continued growth of the industry," Brazile said. "We truly believe the people who buy these colts and breed their mares to Buckles will see a huge return on their investments in the coming years as the sport continues to grow." Since joining Brazile and Baker’s Relentless Remuda mid-July, the stallion has gone back to work for the first time in years, but this time tracking cattle and adjusting to cowboy life.

“He will truly eat a cow,” Brazile laughed. “While cutting bloodlines have more hesitation to the cow, this stud’s genetics put him on the offense, and since we’ve been riding him we’ve seen it in action. He’s the kind of aggressive to the cow that ropers truly want—whether it’s in the breakaway, tie-down, heading or heeling.” Show Me The Buckles will stand in Pilot Point, Texas, at the famed Highpoint Performance Horses.

"We wanted him to get the kind of attention to detail we give our horses," Baker said. "We chose Highpoint because they will keep Buckles working and ridden, which is really important to us that he gets to stay a horse and have a job throughout breeding season."
