Taylor Sheridan Audience Grows to Nearly 200 Million Households in 2022

Taylor Sheridan, age 51, cut his teeth in Hollywood as a working actor on the series Sons of Anarchy and Walker Texas Ranger. Eleven-years ago he quit that grind after realizing his value was diminishing.

Taylor’s first produced script was Sicario, followed by Hell or High Water. He wrote the script and debuted as a director in Wind River, with Jeremy Renner, and most recently in Those Who Wish Me Dead with Angelina Jolie. His scriptwriting for Yellowstone, which he created with John Linson drew in Kevin Costner, and Cole Hauser.

Sam Elliott will star with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill in 1883, the Taylor Sheridancreated prequel to the network’s signature hit drama Yellowstone. 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions are production partners on the series.

Creating Y:1883 Taylor Sheridan’s is approaching the epic production as if were a ten-hour movie. The plot of the series is to follow the Dutton family on a journey west through the Great Plains headed to Montana. Along the way they pickup new characters including Shea Brennan played by Sam Elliott who takes charge of the wagon train.

Sam Elliott was a natural choice for the show. “It all starts with the writing, and Taylor Sheridan is a brilliant writer,” said Elliott. “I think the western genre speaks clearly to both of us. The classic struggles of man against man, man against nature and man against himself. It’s all there, in 1883, and I’m honored to be a part of it.”

Husband and wife, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill may be a risky choice to play the Duttons, however both have millions of fans that can drive viewership. Faith Hill is one of the leading country western singers in history having sold over 40 million records. Faith Hill said “This is the opportunity of a lifetime. The Duttons are a formidable family, and it is an absolute dream to bring such a strong female character like Margaret Dutton to life. I am humbled and honored to work with Taylor and his entire team.”

Tim McGraw has sold 75 million records with 44 worldwide number one singles. Both McGraw and Hill are worldwide brands that can draw audiences across the globe for Paramount+. Filming at the stockyards in Fort Worth, Texas has been underway in a set that required nearly building a new town at the site. Sheridan has sought guidance from historians and is requiring set-designers to recreate 30 wagons to meet their requirements for authenticity. This level of set production has driven up costs. Each wagon has been hand-crafted to reflect the reaility of 1883.

Taylor is telling the story of Western expansion in American thru the life and times of the Dutton Family who are fleeing poverty to for a better future in Montana. Elliott is set to play Shea Brennan, a tough-cowboy. He has the huge task of guiding the group from Texas to Montana. Hill & Mcgraw will portray James and Margaret Dutton, the young patriarch and matriarch of the Dutton family. .
