The Phoenix and the Carpet Join four children on their adventures as they are whisked around the world on their new magical carpet, with the help of a mysterious and fiery phoenix! Spirit of Bridport Community Day and Festival Launch

Twelfth Night St Gabriel’s Strolling players present an evening of prose, poetry and music written over the centuries by authors familiar and unfamiliar celebrating the season of Christmas. From the first snows of December until the end of the Twelve Days of traditional celebration. Candles and firelight, music played on violin and guitar and words from William Barnes and Thomas Hardy, Kenneth allsop and Henry Williamson amongst others, making an atmospheric evening to round off the Christmas season. The Spirit of Bridport holds its second community market showcasing the best of Bridport’s community groups and small businesses. Today also sees the launch of a community photographic project based on robert Golden’s iconic HOME, inviting townspeople to document the changes they have seen in their own lives and to the town itself, in pictures. The evening event sees the official gala launch of the first Spirit of Bridport Festival of Culture to take place from 11 - 27 august 2012. Wine and a finger buffet will be available. Sat 4 February

Tapistory Tapistory is Bridport youth Dance’s eighth annual performance. a collaborative production by nikki northover with additional choreography by niki McCretton, Jonny Hoskins and Xavi Monreal, Tapistory will include tap, street and contemporary dance with musical compositions by andrew Dickson and rob lee. it will be a night of dynamic dance from these talented young dancers.

Fiona Robinson Parallel lines of enquiry Fiona robinson’s drawings are known for their subtlety. They reveal themselves through repeated looking just as her process itself slowly unfolds through time. Work arising from her 2010 Fellowship at the Ballinglen arts Foundation, ireland is exhibited alongside a short story by alain robbe-Grillet.
