CIRCUS

Casting off stereotypes, these dynamic Australian women tumble, talk, fly and balance precariously. A disarming, hilarious show about living on the edge and talking about it; and how it's easier done than said. Circus that makes you laugh and cry simultaneously! Relaxed, personal and fantastically inappropriate.

He's the master of ceremonies: tall, dark and handsome. An MC shows up on stage to present a show, but unexpected events occur. What happens when the Master's props gain a life of their own? 'Entrée' is a physical comedy and magical journey about the struggle of an eccentric character.

CLOWN

Grab your splurge guns and get down to 'Bugsy's Speakeasy' for the great Bank Holiday Showdown. This is a nightclub where mini mobsters and feisty flappers can learn to Charleston and Stroll to the sounds of the Twenties. Enjoy performances, competitions and a grand finale; The Splurge Gun battle! We'll bring the ammo, you bring the bad guys. www.mycharlestondance.com

With more people being pushed into boxes and behind borders than ever, can Doa, Squiggle and Tropizo use their differences to break the stereotype? Featuring aerial slapstick, high-stakes acrobatics and nonsensical language - this show celebrates 'otherness' and the clown within us all. From award-winning Acá Theatre. The boys are coming back to Brighton! 'Chores' is the story of two typical young rascal boys playing in their messy bedroom. Suddenly, Mother's alarming screams rattle the boys back into acrobatic action. A generous serving of comedy and chaotic acrobatics accompanies every attempt at cleaning their room. Hit of the Edinburgh Fringe 2019!

The performance shows a relationship between human behaviour and nature by telling a story of a caterpillar turning into a human through three magical journeys. With almost no dialogue but colourful, visual language which merges the traditional Chinese opera, movement, puppetry, animation and music.

A journey of a story in dreams. The tale is adapted from the Buddhist Jataka tales, which were discovered as cave paintings in the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang, China. It shows a balance between love and being loved, and beneath that it is a warning about returning to our true love by rejecting obsession, greed and desire.

Back flips, handstands and aerial stunts with tongue-in-cheek humour for the adults. From the creators of the smash hit pirate circus show 'Arrr We There Yet?!'

The year is 1969 and NASA has just put the first man on the moon. The world is transfixed, everyone is watching, including eight-year-old Maisie Robinson. Where do art and migration meet? What does art have to say about migration and belonging? Do artists with a migration background create art differently? As a country with a long history of migration, the exhibition 'The Art of Migration' will explore all these through a showcase of paintings, films, installations and photography, talks and performances. www.seasbrighton.com

Join the learners at DVLSC as they explore adulthood through inclusive dance, art, music, film and poetry. An inclusive afternoon, open to the community, family and friends. The show will explore what their aspirations, challenges and feelings are through the path of adulthood. Light refreshments on arrival, art for sale and a raffle.

David Benedictus thought it a shame that Milne had limited himself to just 20 stories concerning the goings on in the forest, and so he set about writing some more. It was not a straightforward task but nothing like as tricky as persuading the Milne Estate to give the project their goahead. After eight years the trustees agreed. Come along and judge for yourselves whether they should have done.

All around the world Roald Dahl's words are disappearing! Now only a secret organisation known as The Ancient Guild of Taletenders can save the stories and they need your help... Especially made for ages six and up, the show is an immersive and interactive performance, involving games and imaginative play, while exploring Roald Dahl's extraordinary stories!

Six students will be creating music using soundbeams; contact free sensors that translate movement into sound. The students essentially move their bodies to break the beams of sound, or press a switch, to produce unique musical sounds. In school, the students have created a prerecorded musical backdrop to which they will add their own live sounds over the top during the show.

A unique, interactive, multi-sensory, Makaton-signed sing along suitable for everyone, regardless of age or ability. Suzanne and Tracy sing and sign as they visit animals in Australia and Africa and make a trip to the zoo and the farm. Also includes up-tempo Pop songs about friendship and happiness.

PUPPETRY THEATRE

Jack lives on a small farm with his mum and very little to eat. He likes to talk to the birds, his cow and anyone who will listen. Imagine his surprise when he swaps his cow for some magic beans and starts to hear a whispering in the breeze and a giant rumble in the sky... Charming and inventive with plenty of interaction, an enormous beanstalk, bags of gold and a smelly old giant.

Head to the woods with Hansel and Gretel, help elves make beautiful shoes, see a frog become a prince, and meet the princess who's the champion of hide-and-seek! A magical adventure for children aged 3+. Co-production with Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham. "They are wonderful" (The Times).

PHYSICAL THEATRE

Set in Japan, Gilbert and Sullivan's operetta is a tangled web of love. Nanki-Poo flees in search of his true love Yum-Yum to avoid marrying a much older suitor. Yum-Yum is betrothed to Ko-Ko, the Lord High Executioner, against her will. Can everything be righted before someone loses their head? Expect high jinks and clever wordplay as all is revealed. www.brightonopenairtheatre.co.uk

At the heart of the labyrinth, the Minotaur skulks. Each year 14 young people are sent to serve as its dinner. It is the ultimate monster, waiting only to devour you whole. Using storytelling, physical theatre and music, All Greek To Me tell this story of love requited and love betrayed.

STORYTELLING

A seven-year-old orphan. A 100-year-old butler. Nine deeply eccentric ancestors and a story that takes flight on darkly comic wings. This show mixes storytelling with oodles of theatricality and a touch of exquisite silliness. Perfect for fans of Harry Potter, Tim Burton and The Brothers Grimm!

A play for children and their families full of adventure, music and song. Join Swiss puppy Oskar on his adventure through the forest looking for a friendly animal to play with. "The love of theatre for little ones has the potential to start right here" (BN1 Magazine). Brighton Fringe 2018 Primary Times Children's Choice Award Winner.

HISTORICAL

Brighton's No. 1 traditional city walking tour, perfect for visitors and residents alike. Join us for 90 minutes of fascinating facts about this incredible city. Find lost fishermen's cottages, curious little twittens, and a long lost little black cat on this acclaimed tour. TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Award winner 2016, 2017, 2018.

Why was Brighton's palace built like an Indian mosque? How did two women marry in 1923? Why did tourists drink sea water and even mix it with milk? Wives for sale, a railway in the sea, a useless king and a war hospital with chandeliers, the free brighton walking tour has it all. A percentage of tips even go to a local homeless charity.
