New Year’s Eve

With public New Year’s Eve events still being uncertain, we’d encourage you to check the Brisbane Kids Calendar regularly for any updates if you are planning on attending an organised event. While larger events like the South Bank fireworks have been cancelled, smaller fireworks events may still take place.

For now, here are some of our favourite ideas for a New Year’s Eve at home with kids:

1. Play some family board games

2. For younger ones, set the clocks forward a few hours and celebrate the New Year early!

3. Set some family goals for 2021

4. Have a neighbourhood party

5. Bop ’til you drop at a family disco

6. Make (and eat) homemade pizzas

7. Create a DIY dessert bar

8. Take sparkler photos

9. Watch Ghostbusters II, which partly takes place on New Year’s Eve

10. Decide on three words for 2021 that will define your family’s year

As restrictions relax, more events are being added to our calendar every single day. You will likely still need to book for many of these, even if the tickets are free, so make sure you look ahead when searching to avoid disappointment. You can find more family friendly events in South East Queensland on the Brisbane Kids Calendar.
