Teaching children to ride a bike can be stressful and time consuming, but if you couple it with awesome playgrounds and fun tracks, it can also be enjoyable!

BRADBURY PARK, KEDRON

Bradbury Park is home to a really cool riding track, with part of the concrete pathway containing obstacles and the other section more suited to those just learning to control their wheels. Sports courts, a magical forest and playgrounds are also fun to visit at Bradbury Park. Location: 91 Kitchener Road in Kedron

Kalinga Park

KALINGA PARK, KALINGA

Learn how to ride in this leafy inner north Brisbane park. The roundabout is a unique feature, as is the signage on the paths. Kalinga Park also includes an incredible fort style playground, toilets, BBQs and an extensive riding track for more experienced riders. Location: Bertha Street in Kalinga (near Clayfield)

KIDSPACE, CHERMSIDE

The designated bike track at Kidspace features realistic road signs and markings, allowing users to practice their stopping, roundabouts and speed bumps. The surrounding area boasts a large fort playground, toilets, plenty of grassed areas, BBQs and picnic facilities. Location: Cnr of Murphy & Newman Roads in Chermside

CRESTMEAD PARK, CRESTMEAD

The mini-traffic track at Crestmead Park is flat and mirrors realistic traffic situations, with divided roads and road signs, making it ideal for beginners. There is also a large skatepark nearby for those who have four wheels and more confidence. Location: Cnr of Gimlet Street & Royena Court in Crestmead

Demeio Park

DEMEIO PARK, MARSDEN

The cycle park at Demeio Park is designed to look and feel like a real road, featuring 220 metres of pathway, a roundabout, road signs and mini versions of the Gateway Bridge & Logan River’s iconic Red Bridge. Kids will also love the 9.4m tower, tube slide and flying fox in the playground. Location: 116-124 Demeio Road in Marsden

Grande Park

PALLARA DISTRICT PARK, PALLARA

Pallara District Park features a 190m bike track complete with speed humps, signage and a bridge. A one-stop ‘fix it’ shop is also on hand, containing tools needed to fix bikes including a tyre pump. The park also features a fantastic playground, fitness area and toilets. Location: Cnr of Gooderham & Brookbent Roads in Pallara

Timberland Park

MELROSE PARK, WOOLOOWIN

Melrose Park offers a shady and relatively flat mini traffic course, complete with lanes and road signs. A playground, skatepark, sports courts and lots of lovely green space surround the park, making it an ideal spot for an afternoon of fun. Location: Cnr of Rose & Roseleigh Streets in Wooloowin

GRANDE PARK, SPRINGFIELD LAKES

Little ones learning to ride will love the road markings, traffic lights, stop signs and other signage at Grande Park. There are also some lovely recreational pathways for anyone wishing to extend their journey around the area. A fenced playground, toilets and BBQ facilities are also within the park. The traffic track at Timberland Park is huge and is the perfect place for those learning to ride. Kids can enjoy negotiating the mini roads whilst also learning road rules from the street signs they come across. Location: Crnr of Basswood & Satinash Streets in Algester

Symphony Crescent Park features a mini traffic track to help teach little ones road rules while they practise their riding skills.
