Course Details GENERAL ENGLISH

ENGLISH PLUS TENNIS*

15 hours/week We use a special short course syllabus which focuses on improving the core skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening through immersive activities and project work. Lessons are interactive and engaging, providing a natural platform for students to practise their English.

15 hours/week plus 6 hours/week Bradfield College has fantastic tennis facilities within their school campus. Our tennis option includes three afternoon sessions each week with students having structured tennis coaching by qualified Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) instructors.

Our aim is to improve students’ confidence as quickly as possible whilst encouraging the accurate production of language including grammar.

INTENSIVE ENGLISH 23 hours/week This course is designed for students who are determined to improve their English quickly and still enjoy most of the exciting social activities.

READY FOR GCSE 23 hours/week This specialist programme is designed for students currently studying at a UK school preparing to take their GCSE exams. This three week programme focuses on specific GCSE subjects.

Oxford Full-day excursion to Oxford where students can enjoy sightseeing, shopping and discover famous landmarks. Oxford University visit included. Windsor Half-day excursion to Windsor. Entrance to Windsor castle included.

BSC Young Learners provide an enriching excursion program, where students will be given the opportunity to enjoy unsupervised time within some of the most culturally vibrant locations in their course town. Perfect for UK students preparing to take their GCSE exams

This specialist programme is designed for students currently studying at a UK school preparing to take their GCSE exams. This three week programme focuses on specific GCSE subjects combined with activities and excursions for students to meet friends from all around the world. By developing problem-solving and exam management skills students will finish the course feeling confident and prepared to take the GCSE exams. Course Outcomes

Young Learners

English Plus Tennis

This is the ideal programme for students wanting to combine professional tennis coaching with English tuition

Our English plus Tennis course is open to boys and girls aged 8-17 of all tennis playing abilities. Students will receive General English in morning lessons for 15 hours per week with a great mixture of International students from other courses followed by expert tennis coaching sessions from the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) for a further 15 hours in the afternoons.

Course Aims Course Outcomes

On completion of this course, students will:

• Improve general English skills

• Have developed their language skills through in class English lessons and practical tennis sessions.

• Learn and develop greater confidence playing tennis under the guidance of LTA Level 4 professional coaches

• Developed a greater confidence to follow instructions by trained professional tennis coaches.

• Be able to adapt to playing on different tennis surfaces such as clay courts, Indoor Plexipave courts and outdoor ‘hard’ courts • Develop an understanding of the fitness and required to become a professional tennis player

• Have a deeper understanding of the day-to-day life of a tennis player and the different tactics required to play on different surfaces. • Have experience working individually and in small groups. • Have a greater confidence playing tennis and progressed onto a playing ability. • Be more confident in speaking English. • Have met and learned from English native-level speakers. • Have their English level assessed by the BSC YL level test. • Become a more independent learner. • Have had a transformational learning experience.
