Elementary For Horsequest
British Dressage is delighted to announce leading equine sales website HorseQuest as the new sponsor of the Elementary National Championships from 2023 onwards.
Founded in 2000, HorseQuest has become established as market leader in the classifieds industry, providing advertisers with a top rate platform and flexible service for more than two decades.
The online marketplace enjoys over 700,000 monthly visits, with over 2 million page views across the site by those looking to buy and sell horses, horseboxes, trailers and equestrian services.

Para Academy Launched
British Dressage has launched a new Para Academy programme to help riders develop their training, education and skills within para dressage, as well as horse welfare, to assist them through the BD national para structure.
The Para Academy will comprise of two two-day camps, running in October 2023 and April 2024, subsidised by British Dressage. Applications are now open, and close on 1 August 2023.
British Dressage Para Director Tracy Ormrod commented; “The launch of the first Para Academy is an exciting development for para riders aiming to progress through the levels and develop their skills.
“The team has created an opportunity that provides first-rate access to excellent quality training, coaches and equestrian professionals in a friendly, supportive environment.
“We look forward to the first events taking place in the autumn.”

Nottingham-based solicitors Rotheras has been providing high quality legal advice for nearly 200 years and now joins our dedicated team of partners offering support and services to the BD membership.
The dedicated equine team at Rotheras, led by industry specialist Caroline Bowler, offers a wide range of equestrian legal services. From buying or selling a horse, ownership disputes and veterinary or farrier negligence, Rotheras can offer advice, support, and guidance to members thanks to their extensive understanding of the equestrian landscape.
British Dressage members will be able to benefit from a legal helpline with up to 30 minutes of initial free advice. Medal Of Honour For Chris
Chris Porterfield was awarded the BD Medal of Honour by Chief Executive Jason Brautigam at the NAF Five Star Winter Championships.
This award recognises individuals who’ve made an outstanding contribution to the sport or given distinguished and long service.
List 2A judge Chris retires from her role as FEI General Steward after an outstanding career of service, not only to judging but also in National and International stewarding.
