elcome to our Annual Bull Sale. We are excited to be having our sale live at the ranch this year! Ever since I was a kid I always wanted to have a live sale. We are grateful for everyone along the way that has helped us get to this point! 26 years ago my dad and grandpa held a production horse sale on the farm. This time we are selling bulls not horses but watch for some saddle horses in 2026 !

When we got into the bull business 15 years ago, our goal was to produce bulls that would make the commercial cattlemen money. Cowboy traits first ! Bulls that cover ground, get your cows bred and will sire a calf crop that will bring top dollar. Our goal remains the same. The cattle market is at an all time high and it’s great to see producers get rewarded. Good quality cattle always bring a premium, good times or bad!

All our bulls were feed efficiency tested on the Growsafe bunks this fall!

-F:G (Feed to gain) - Represents how many lbs of feed it takes for 1 lb of gain. Average F:G is 7.5:1

-RFI (Residual Feed Intake) - RFI is calculated as the difference between an animal’s actual feed intake and their expected feed intake. The lower the RFI number the more efficient they are.

EX. A bull with a -1.0 RFI would take 1.0 lbs less of Dry Matter Intake to make 1.0 LBS of gain. A bull with -1.5 RFI would take 1.5 lbs less of DM Intake to make 1.0 lbs of gain, and so on.

-ADG - (Average daily gain)

We help market over 60,000 head of feeder cattle/breds/replacement hfrs a year. Through S.A.L.E and privately! Talk to us about marketing your cattle.

WARRANTY

We don’t have a fancy warranty program or make you buy into one. Ours is simple. You buy one of our bulls, you are going to have a bull to get your cows bred. That simple, we run on our word and a handshake.

Cash or cheque payable sale day. All settlements must be made with the sale clerks before cattle will be released. The right of property will not pass until final payment is made. Unless previous arrangements have been made.

Bidding

Each animal will sell to the highest bidder. Bidders unable to bid on-line, may phone their bids in to the listed representatives.

Disputes

Bidding will be re-opened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision is final.

Announcements

Announcements made from the block will take precedence over printed matter in the catalog. Buyers are cautioned to pay close attention to announcements.

Pictures

By attending the sale, you are granting permission for your picture to be used for promotional and advertising purposes relating to the sale, unless you notify the sellers that you do not grant permission for you picture to be used.

Purchaser’s Risk

Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time.

Certificate of Registration

Each animal will carry papers issued by their association unless otherwise stated. A full certificate of registry duty transferred will be furnished to the buyer after payment has been made.

Delivery

Assistance will be given in making delivery after the sale. The purchaser agrees shipping arrangements will be at the convenience of the seller, but will be as soon as practical after the sale, at the buyer’s risk.

Breeder Guarantee

Bulls are vet evaluated before the sale and will be semen check ed by April, unless buyer requests earlier. If your bull does not pass semen check, your funds will be refunded. Spare bulls are kept-we will work with you to get your cows bred!

Exception Guarantee

In the case where the animal is subject to any hormonal or surgical reproductive techniques after the sale, this guarantees shall be null and void. The seller is not responsible for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has been sold or for sickness not apparent at the sale time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price.

American Purchases

The sellers will do all health testing for export. The Seller will assist with delivery. Exchange rates will be announced sale day at current rates. All bulls guaranteed exportable to the USA.

Insurance

We recommend that you insure your purchases. It is the buyers’ responsibility to make arrangements with your preferred insurance broker.

Semen

The consignors reserve the right to in-herd semen use on any bull sold in the sale, with the semen drawn at the consignor ’s expense and the buyer’s convenience.

Liabilities

All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, Prouse Ranch, assume no liability legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur.

Kela’s Salers have been a great addition here. They have a ton of hair, vigor, are easy calving and easy keeping! If you’re looking for heifer bulls that will calve with no issues but still gain and bring a calf home in the fall with weight, you’re looking in the right place. Want to keep females? The Salers and Salers cross females are one of the best. Expect the birth weight on the calves to be up 10-15 lbs going from calving in Southern AB to East Central Saskatchewan!
