Brittanee Wallace Rationale Project 2: Logo Identity 4/2/2015
Design Strategy My logo is strategically designed to appeal to potential employeers in the cupcake and/or candy industry. I wanted to choose a design that
would look clean cut and polished just like the artwork of bakers. I want to start out being the account planner or marketing consultant for a local or chain bakery and then eventually own my own bakery. This design is simple yet impactful, much like my current skill qualifications. This design could be much more complex but I wanted to create a design that still was functional on a small scale and the more details I added the more cluttered the design appeared when reduced to a smaller size. The proximity of the lines is meant to alude to cake frosting and the circular top is meant to symbolize whip cream two of which are my favorite. The base of the cupcake is solid black because I thought this looked stirty and effecient just like I want my brand to be.
Typefaces Harrington Regular depicts my personality it is a playful yet powerful typeface and has a feminine feel to it. There is also a classy feel to this font it is simple yet makes a memorable and adorable mark with the small curvatures in the font which mirrors what bakers strive to create. Minion Pro Regular is used for the body copy and I chose them because this font is acceptable at both a local and national level, and also at a marketing or business firm. I wanted the versatility of my degree to parallel my design where it is not so whimsical that it couldn’t float around the business world. A lare part of the bakery business does consist of swirls for designs and text on food so an employer may remember my logo because their mind may associate my brand with one of their many delectable creations.

Visuals The curly style of the capital B and captial W in the Harrington Regular typeface match the curvation in the cupcake. The footer of the letter head correlates with the business card design and function. The steardiness of the base of the cupcake matches that of the MInion Pro Regular typeface.
Colors The pink is to pay homage to my aunt who was breast cancer. If I am ever so fortunate enough to get my own business the philanthrophy for my bakery or candy store will be St.Jude and numerous Breast CancerAwarness movements.
