Charcoal Drawing Two still-life drawings, completed over a semester long period, demonstrate the power of visual organization and expression through the use of value. Each 36 x 42
Silkscreen Printmaking Each print uses contemporary silkscreen techniques on heavy rag paper. The printmaking process inherently creates depth and movement as colors mix and overlap.
A Print Series on Time & Space We are a society constrained by time and spatial perception. Drawing on modern experiences, these prints express the finite qualities through its subject. The evolution of time is dependent on technology.
Self-Portrait 54” x 30”
Acrylic Paint
Landscape 36” x 48”
To bring life and energy in the dead of winter.
Painting-whether with Acrylic or Watercolor- has been a continuum of learning about the medium itself. I am able to achieve a stronger image when I understand the relationship of the paint to the subject.
Dad 12” x 20”
His & Hers 7” x 5”
Painting as a means of bold, visual expression. Pomegranate 5” x 7”
Rome, Italy Anaylzing space through the use of diagrams and measured drawings. I was able to invent my own type of drawing vocabulary in order to communicate my perception of a city that is shaped by its art and architecture.
Visually Anaylzing the Built Environment
Free Hand Drawing To fully see you must draw; to fully draw you must see.
An Elegant Collision Made of wire, basswood, and plexi glass, two simple shapes interact. The top shape aggressively converges with the passively positioned shape below it.
Mass & Void Convext and concave forms were created after plaster was poured into a cardboard box with medal sheet molding. The plaster forms push and pull against one another to create tension of mass and void.
Model made of foam core and pins
Studies of light and space with black and white pastel
Galleria of Light Images explain concept development. Ultimately, the design includes two dynamic structures that create vivid scenes of focal glow.
Professional Experience - The Secret Gardener Hudson, NY
Ancram, NY Residence Preliminary elevation drawing for a Garden Shed that echoes the traditional farmhouse architecture of the Main House. Hudson, NY Residence Located in the heart of Hudson, the homeowner was seeking livable green space and privacy. The design included a variety of texture and horiculture and new stonework to entertain with.
My portfolio, as a whole, is an ongoing process. As I snapshot my work through different stages of my life I can see how I have developed and gained confidence in my ability to see the world through a creative lens. This is but another step in developing myself as an individual and a designer. Each product is created by a mindful approach, profoundly influenced by my curiosity toward nature; a curiosity that will continue to be expressed in my next creation.
