BECOMING A SUPPORTER

As a supporter of the Brittle Bone Society you will receive our quarterly newsletter, information updates and be entitled to receive a discount on attendance at the annual conference and other events.

Have you ever been in an accident? Had a bad fall? Broken a limb? If so you will know how debilitating it can be. For some people this is a daily reality. There are approximately 5000 people in the UK who live with the rare condition Osteogenesis Imperfecta. OI is a disorder of collagen, a protein which forms the framework for the bone structure. In OI the collagen may be of poor quality, or there may just not be enough to support the mineral structure of the bones. This makes the bones weak and fragile and results in the bones being liable to fracture at any time even without trauma.

We are ambitious in our hopes for more research. We want to help every family find the support they need to help them face the challenges OI can bring.
