PROPOSED GRAPHICS
WILSON RESIDENCE Spring 2023 - Inventory, Analysis, Grading & Design This single family lot located in Canton, GA was faced with the difficult task of not only designing a cohesive landscape for a growing family, but also grading the lot out to have the planting fit into a relatively hilly gradient with a stream running through it. During the design process, grade, zoning regulations, and design preferences were constantly kept in mind and factored into each step. Topography was modeled in SketchUp with information derived from ArcGIS. The final plan was rendered by hand and edited with Adobe Photoshop.
SITE GRADING 3 WILSON RESIDENCE
Retaining walls were built into the design of the lot to accommodate for grading slopes. The residence requested a wide driveway and a parking space to allow visitors to park without impeding the flow of traffic down the long driveway. The lot features ample lawn space for play, a pool, paved spaces to work around the outdoor covered patio and pool, designated sitting space, and a built-in wooden backstop for children to play against.

VARSITY TOWNHOMES Spring 2023 - Analysis, Grading, Design & Modeling The under-utilized block off of Milledge Avenue and Broad Street in Athens, GA was the location of a project focused on repurposing the space into a new townhome development. Maximizing the area to include as many townhomes as possible, of varying sizes, and recreational spaces was a requirement, along with providing parking and sidewalks. The final plan was developed in AutoCAD, rendered by hand and edited with Adobe Photoshop. Sketchup was utilized to provide simple 3D models of the Varsity Townhomes and spaces within. There are 71 units of varying sizes within the 7 acre lot, multiple greenspaces for varying levels of play, space for a playground, a clubhouse, and an amenity area. Safe walking paths for residents were crucial in the design phase, and have been implemented all throughout the Varsity Townhomes

HISTORIC COLUMBUS BRADLEY CIRCLE
Summer 2023 - Photoshop Design & Rendering The Early 1900’s Era home built on Bradley Circle in Columbus, GA was one of the many homes that the Historic Columbus Foundation bought to remodel and resell with their revolving funds account. The intention of the project was to take this home in a historic part of town, renovate the exterior, roofing, interior, and lawn, then sell it to a prospective buyer for a low, affordable price. Tasked with keeping costs down, a landscape plan comprised of simple, yet sophisticated plants were selected for the design of the lot.

2ND AVENUE SHOTGUN
Summer 2023 - Photoshop Design & Rendering This Shotgun-style home located off 2nd Avenue was going to be demolished to make way for a new development. Instead, one of the Directors at the Historic Columbus Foundation purchased and chose to relocate the house to use in the future as a small office space. To help with visualization of the site’s future design, I was tasked with creating a quick, one hour rendering of a possible landscape plan using a construction document and photoshop.

UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA: WEST CAMPUS REDESIGN Spring 2023 - Analysis, Design & Rendering Off Broad Street and on the Northwest edge of campus lies 11-acres of prime real estate for the University of Georgia to redevelop. Tasked with creating a master plan for this hypothetical project, the design includes multi-family residential units, restaurants, retail, UGA academic and administrative buildings, an amphitheater, a dining hall, and a student gym.
9 UGA: WEST CAMPUS REDESIGN
In the design process a personal emphasis was placed on bringing facilities to North Campus that are currently only found farther away in inconvenient locaitons for students who reside in this area. A small dining hall, a medium sized gym, and a small student center were factored into the design to solve these problems.

HILL STREET DISTRICT Spring 2023 - Group Project - Analysis, Design & Rendering Designed with walkability, connection, access to natural spaces, recreation, and one-of-a-kind experiences, the Hill Street District in Griffin, GA promotes community while encompassing public and private spaces. As a team, my partner and I designed a large scale mixeduse development with distinctive, yet cohesive, districts within the plot of a now defunct airport.
11 GRIFFIN, GA: HILL STREET DISTRICT
Griffin is a town looking to bring the filming industry to middle Georgia. Consequently a large area dedicated to soundstages and filming space was the anchor of the development. Hill Street District also includes two hotels, a business park, two unique elliptical parks, lakes, retail, townhomes, an amphitheater, a nature center and temporary housing for cast and crew.

MERGED CONCEPT
Numerous revisions led to an ideal plan for the Griffin, GA development. This iteration led to the final design of the reimagined site, emphasizing walkability, connection, recreation, and unique experiences for the region.

NORTH PARK GREENHOUSE, LAKE & COMMUNITY FARM Two large roundabouts are the central points of our design which designate the connection between the various areas of the Hill Street District. North Park draws inspiration from formal gardens and focuses on planting including a greenhouse and a community farm both intend to spark community engagement and a love for nature.
SOUTH WHEEL GREENSPACE, WALKING CIRCUIT & CONNECTION The first roundabout upon entry to the development directs traffic to the hotels, business park, and Southern Retail district. We emphasized walkability and accessibility through creating an extensively connected walking hub.
RETAIL & LIVING SHOPPING, PARKING & TEMPORARY HOUSING A retail space intended to separate visitors away from parking was designed to be a premier shopping area. Additionaly, a private neighborhood for film cast and crew was built across the street from Griffin Studios.

GRIFFIN - SPALDING COUNTY AIRPORT SITE VISIT Before designing, our class took a preliminary visit to Griffin, GA to meet with city planners and airport officials. During the trip, we noted that a large portion of the Griffin-Spalding County Airport was being underutilized. Multiple airplane hangars were left empty, and the surrounding landscape was overgrown. The grading of the site was extremely flat allowing for unlimited design possibilities.

LOVEJOY PARK REDESIGN Fall 2023 - Analysis, Design & Rendering Meigs is a town located in southern Georgia, with a population less than 1,200 people. Their town suffers greatly from a lack of public park spaces that could be used in numerous ways. The town is looking for a park to serve their community and grow trust, while also bringing in visitors and events as a way to increase income in the town. A small park in the middle of Meigs was the site chosen for a redesign.
15 MEIGS, GA: LOVEJOY PARK
This redesign emphasizes community engagement while also providing infrastructure to hold small baseball or softball tournaments, food truck festivals, farmers markets, and more. Three designated play structures allow local and nearby children to visit and enjoy the unique park. Additional design envisions a play creek, greenspace, a community garden and two pavilions for residents to enjoy.
CONCEPT SKETCHES
PRECEDENT IMAGES Inspiration for the Lovejoy Park redesign came from successful park precedents that I studied around the United States. These locations all had ample greenspace, lush planting, and various structures to allow for activites to occur frequently onsite. These images are examples that I found during my research.
