We are pioneers and innovators in the development and manufacture of busbar power distribution systems and cast resin transformers. We have established, marketleading positions in both product fields – throughout the world. Zucchini provide a complete range of – ‘off the shelf’ solutions for distributing and transforming power and also have the capabilities to design and engineer bespoke solutions – to meet customers’ specific requirements. For almost fifty years, Zucchini has been totally committed to the production and supply of busbar power distribution systems and transformers.

Zucchini A global company We are, in every sense, a global company, operating in a global market. Since Zucchini’s inception in 1958, the Company has invested in a continuous programme of Research and Development. Our philosophy of maintaining the highest levels of technical quality and design, in combination with the latest generation of production technology has had a major influence on our continuous success and sustained growth. As a result, Zucchini has become one of the top three European suppliers of busbar systems and cast resin transformers. Zucchini has three ‘state of the art’ production plants in Northern Italy, which cumulatively, provide 72,000 m2 of manufacturing space. We also have three, well established subsidiary companies operating in Britain, France and Spain, plus dedicated sales and service support teams in a further 48 countries - worldwide.

Birmingham. Zucchini’s UK headquarters which provides all sales, technical and customer support. It also serves as the product distribution centre for the UK.
Brescia. The Zucchini Group’s logistics, administration, sales and engineering operations are based here. We also have a modern production plant of 24,000 m 2 , which manufactures the high power range of busbar trunking.
At Muscoline, near Brescia, we have a further 23,000 m 2 of production plant which manufactures the lighting, low power and medium power ranges of busbar trunking.
Marnate and Teramo. Factories and offices in excess of 20,000 m 2 for the design and manufacture of both standard and special cast resin transformer ranges with power ratings up to 12,000 kVA.
Specialist knowledge and experience Unlike today’s electrical equipment manufacturing conglomerates, Zucchini is completely focused on the design, production and technical support of busbar power distribution systems and cast resin transformers. We are a specialist organisation providing specialised knowledge and experience in the product fields in which we operate. There are, of course, no short cuts to gaining 50 years of experience. As a result Zucchini is well recognised by contractors and consultants for providing solutions to power distribution problems.
Quality products, quality certification, approvals and accreditations Zucchini is totally committed to providing superb engineering and product quality. We therefore maintain and guarantee high standards in all areas of the design, engineering, production, customer service and technical support areas. Our entire product line is manufactured in accordance with the ISO 9001: 2000 quality standards. Zucchini products are also approved by CESI (the Italian equivalent of ASTA) and has the accreditations of LOVAG, KEMA and Braunsweig. The Company also operates regular, in-situ, project testing programmes in close co-operation with leading electrical contractors and consultants throughout Europe.

Busbar systems from 25A to 8000A From 25A right up to 8000A, Zucchini is the only busbar system manufacturer to provide a complete range of solutions for all low, medium or high power distribution requirements. In short, there is a Zucchini system specifically designed to do the job – perfectly.
Cast resin transformers Zucchini can also offer a wide range of cast resin and dry type transformers. The standard product range which includes transformers between 160 and 3150 kVA, conforms to all relevant European standards. Special type transformers with power ratings up to 12,000 kVA are also available.
Design and technical advice In the UK, Zucchini is conveniently located in Birmingham, where the Company has a highly experienced, team of busbar system and transformer specialists. Zucchini UK provides electrical contractors and consultants with a full range of project design and technical advisory services. The Company also has a strategically placed, national sales team, which provides an unrivalled level of personal service, technical support and project management.

Zucchini industrial power Zucchini is universally specified for a wide variety of power distribution projects in industry. For example, the Company’s Super Compact series of busbar systems is the popular choice amongst British specifiers to feed and distribute high power for applications such as transformer to switchboard links, factory power distribution and rising main installations. In the automotive field alone, clients specifying Zucchini include most of the leading manufacturers, for instance: Bentley Motors, BMW, LandRover, Daimler Chrysler, Peugeot, Nissan, Honda, Vauxhall, Toyota, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, JCB.
Trolley busbar systems are specified and supplied as a most cost-efficient solution to provide mobile power in a wide variety of industrial applications. Including factory production lines, mobile cranes, hoists, bridge cranes etc.

Bentley Motors Zucchini’s lighting busbar system has been used extensively at the luxury car maker to provide a flexible and adaptable power distribution system.
Seagate Laboratories The SB medium power and SC high power busbar systems have been utilised at the high-tech laboratories for this leading computer components supplier.
LandRover Zucchini’s HL lighting busbar has been specified throughout the prestigious automotive plant in the Midlands which produces the LandRover and Freelander models.
Honda At the main factory in Swindon, Zucchini’s heavy-duty HL range of lighting busbar trunking has been installed to provide a costeffective solution for lighting distribution – throughout.

Retail and logistics Zucchini is the logical choice Zucchini is also widely specified in the UK for power distribution projects in retail and large scale logistics centres. Here again, Zucchini’s clients in this field is a ‘Who’s Who’ of Britain’s leading retailers including Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Blockbuster Video, HMV and IKEA to name but a few.
HMV Zucchini’s 6 pole HL lighting busbar trunking was specified at the flagship Oxford Street store to distribute power throughout the entire 3 story site totalling 33,000 m 2 .

The versatile HL range of lighting busbar comes in 4, 6 or 8 pole versions in 25 or 40 Amp ratings.
Tesco Over 7,000 metres of busbar trunking was specified at the massive 50,000 m 2 distribution centre at Thurrock in Essex. A total of four Zucchini systems were incorporated to give a complete, integrated and cost-effective solution for power distribution throughout.
Sainsbury’s The easy-fit HL busbar system has been utilised at various J. Sainsbury’s distribution centres nationwide to provide substantial savings in installation costs over more traditional hard-wired systems. As the outstanding mechanical strength and rigidity of the Zucchini system allows up to 6 metre fixing centres, the entire fitting process was extremely quick and economical.
IKEA The regional distribution centres at Peterborough and Doncaster have used several thousand metres of the HL range of lighting busbar trunking to supply warehouse lighting.

Zucchini makes commercial sense Zucchini certainly makes a lot of sense to specifiers and electrical contractors concerned with high-profile projects in the commercial sector. Projects include Millennium Point, Canary Wharf, The Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds TSB.
Millennium Point Zucchini has supplied over 1,400 metres of HL lighting busbar to distribute power at the prestigious Millennium point development in the heart of Birmingham city centre.
Canary Wharf Zucchini supplied its high power SC busbar system for a number of select developments at London’s Canary Wharf, which required complex power distribution arrangements.

BBC TV Centre The SC high power busbar system was specified at the TV centre in London to distribute power between the main switchboard panels and transformers.
Met Office Zucchini’s SC high power and SB medium power busbar systems were supplied for the main power distribution at this modern high-tech development.

The Eden Project Four environmentally friendly cast resin transformers were specified at the ÂŁ86 million experimental project located in St Austell, 30 miles west of Plymouth.
Zucchini in the public sector Throughout Britain, Zucchini provides a wide range of power distribution solutions to an equally wide variety of new build and refurbishment projects in the public sector. These include hospitals, civic buildings, museums, galleries, universities, sports and leisure facilities etc.
Great Western Hospital Five 1250 kVA and two 250 kVA cast resin transformers were supplied for the prestigious new hospital in Swindon.
University College London Hospital The Super Compact 1200 Amp five pole busbar system was specified for this state of the art hospital development in London.
Belfast City Hall Five SB Medium power rising main system were installed at this impressive and historic building in the centre of Belfast.

University of Birmingham The SB vertical rising main system was installed at the Physics department building.
Institute of Arable Crop Research The versatile 5 pole SB busbar system was used for the main power distribution system at this new research development facility.
