Reacta Lighting Management Systems

Reacta Reacta lighting controls are a simple, cost effective way to control all types of lighting while providing large energy savings. Features:

• Automatic lighting control • Energy savings through presence detection • Ease of installation • Daylight Linking • Passive photocell • All types of lighting load can be controlled Various different presence detectors are available, giving total flexibility and choice when specifying controls for any lighting projects. All settings can be adjusted using the hand-held programmer REA BP (basic programmer) The range is broken down into 4 main sections: Reacta 1 - These sensors will turn fittings on/off only from the PIR. Reacta 2 - These sensors can be used for on/off and dimming via a handheld controller or daylight. Reacta 3 - These microwave detectors are used for presence detection when larger areas need to be covered, they are not used for dimming. Reacta 4 - As reacta 2 however these are used in an addressable system.

Reacta 1 Recessed and Surface PIR (on/off) Presence Detectors Reacta switching detectors can be flush (in a suspended or plasterboard ceiling) or surface mounted. Note: cable not shown on above. standard cable length 2mtr Remote recessed sensor

Each detector can switch a lighting load up to a maximum of 6 Amps. Use with High Frequency control gear only. 6 Metre diameter coverage at a typical mounting height of 2.4m Dextra’s standard range Reacta presence detectors have adjustable time delay and in-built passive photocell. Switching (photocell) level is programmed using any infrared remote control unit. Set to >5000 lux as standard - lights always switch on when first installed. Working photocell range 50-5000 lux

Reacta Reacta 3 Microwave Detectors All Reacta stand-alone products incorporate either a passive or active photocell. Utilising microwave presence detection technology they are suited to a wide range of applications. This technology enables the detectors to cover much larger areas – up to 3600sq metres. All stand-alone Reacta products are capable of switching any type of lighting load and are rated at up to 10A (see specific product data for further information) Microwave detectors will pick up any type of movement such as a door opening onto a corridor. This is particularly useful where a normal Passive Infra Red (PIR) would not be appropriate. All units (except long-range equipment) are self-contained affording simple, hassle-free installation. The long-range equipment comprises a separate detector head and control unit, which is invaluable when commissioning as the detector head may be relatively inaccessible. All commissioning is done at the control unit. The detector head is connected to the control unit by a 2-core screened cable (0.75mm2 min). FP 200 or PYRO is recommened. There is no practical limit to the length of this connection. REAF/S 3 MR – 20m x 20m, 25m in corridor. Max recommended mounting height 3.5m REAF/S 3 LR 30 – 30m x 30m, 30m in corridor. No practical mounting height limit REAF/S 3 LR 60 – 60m x 60m, 60m in corridor. No practical mounting height limit

Reacta communicating Presence Detection Systems offer the end-user total flexibility, control and choice in a complete Lighting Management System solution. All units are connected together on the Reacta two-wire bus and share occupancy and light-level information throughout the controlled area. Infinitely reconfigurable as environments and office layouts change the React Communicating Presence Detection System will adapt and evolve effortlessly in the ever-changing office environment. A Reacta Digital Bus Power Supply synchronises the bus data and has the ability to connect up to 200 devices. Up to 99 Bus Power Supplies can be connected together. Although the end-user can successfully commission an installed system, we strongly advise that our own commissioning engineers carry out this process to ensure trouble-free operation.

Integral sensor

Some Dextra luminaires can be fitted with integral presence detectors, these detectors can be used to switch DSI or DALI only. Please ask for more details.

Digital output leaves PIR and is connected at every luminaire. Polarity - free digital output. Note that sensor is Positioned in the centre of the area being controlled, when remote from fittings. Check ballast capacity. Recessed: Analogue detectors rated up to 6A DSI & DALI detectors rated up to 8 ballasts Integral: DSI - up to 4 ballasts MAX DALI - 1 ballast MAX

Reacta 4 allows detectors and luminaires to be grouped into ‘Zones’. A detector will share occupancy information with all other Reacta 4 devices on the systems and can communicate directly with that equipment which shares the same Zone number. Common Zones can be programmed such that they remain on when any part of the building is occupied - people working late in an open plan office will not feel isolated sat in a pool of light. Up to 6 different lighting scenes can be programmed using the hand-held override (REA RP). Once an area is vacant and the time delay has elapsed, the detectors can be programmed to send the lighting to minimum or any preset lighting level for a selectable amount of time or simply switch off.

Dextra’s regulating reacta presence detectors have an adjustable time delay, in-built regulating passive photocell for daylight linking, can be overridden by the user and have their outputs included in up to 6 different lighting scenes.

Two types of handheld remote controls can be used to control the lighting levels. The REA RB is a two-button remote, to simply dim the fittings up or down. The REA RP is a ten-button remote control which allows up to six scenes to be set and stored for future recall. Some Dextra luminaires can be fitted with integral presence detectors.
