Landlok® Erosion Control Blankets (ECBs) Landlok® ECBs are ideal erosion control products for the short-term challenge of establishing vegetation in low to moderate erosion applications. Unlike loose fiber mulches, a Landlok erosion control blanket gives your project dimensional stability, locking seed and soil in place and protecting seedlings to promote faster vegetation growth and a stronger root system. ECBs are easy to install and are designed to degrade over specific periods of time depending on application requirements and project location. These geosynthetic solutions are comprised of either straw and/or coconut fibers or polypropylene yarns and fibers. Landlok ECBs are reinforced on one or both sides by polypropylene netting.

BEFORE

AFTER

Landlok® Turf Reinforcement Mats (TRMs) Landlok® TRMs are perfect geosynthetics for moderateflow storm water channels, banks and steep slopes where both immediate and long-term erosion control is needed. Using our patented X3® fiber technology, a Landlok turf reinforcement mat traps more seed, soil and water in place than traditional hard armor products, yielding faster and fuller vegetation. X3 also provides reinforced vegetation with twice the erosion protection of other TRMs and erosion control blankets. Landlok TRMs are available in temporary or permanent material construction. Our temporary TRMs are constructed of a dense web of polypropylene fibers positioned between two biaxially oriented nets. Permanent TRMs feature a 3-dimensional woven material construction which allows increased design life over temporary netted, fused, glued or stitchbonded TRMs. All of our TRMs are made of 100% synthetic, ultraviolet (UV)- stabilized components and are completely non-degradable.

TURBIDITY BARRIERS For Construction, Dredging, and Mining Sites

2

TURBIDITY BARRIERS are designed to restrict the flow of sediment-laden water, to keep it contained in a limited area, and to allow the sediment to settle out before being carried into adjacent or joining watercourses.

FLOATING TURBIDITY BARRIERS consist of a top flotation boom, an impervious or filter fabric curtain extending downward under water, and a heavy galvanized steel chain sealed into a hem along the bottom of the curtain to provide ballast to keep the curtain vertical in the water. Ends are sealed around a rope and grommeted to allow attachment to each other. THERE ARE THREE TYPES OF FLOATING TURBIDITY BARRIERS:

Type 1.DOT barriers are used in

Type 2.DOT barriers are used in

Type 3.DOT barriers are similar to

waters with no or low currents (up to one ft per second) such as lakes, ponds, slow streams, or marshes.

higher current waters (up to five feet per second), such as deeper lakes, streams, inter-coastal and tidal areas.

Type 2.DOT except that a filter fabric section is permanently sewn into the barrier’s curtain.

TOUGH GUY® Turbidity Barriers are manufactured by AER-FLO, Inc., the world’s largest producer of these environmentally critical devices. Aer-Flo is proud that BROCK WHITE COMPANY is its Distributor for Prairie North America.

Tensar® TriAx® Geogrid

A Revolution in Geogrid Technology For more than 30 years, Tensar International Corporation has been a leading developer and manufacturer of geogrid products for improving trafficked surfaces. In fact, Tensar® Biaxial (BX) Geogrid was the world’s first commercially available geosynthetic reinforcement grid for civil engineering applications. This innovative technology has allowed owners, engineers and contractors to realize the primary features and benefits associated with geogrid in both paved and unpaved applications, which include:

2

• Stabilization of soft ground conditions • Simplified Construction • Improved Site Access • Reduced Required materials • Optimized thickness of pavement components • Extension of pavement service life And now, with the introduction of Tensar® TriAx® Geogrid, these benefits are even greater. We have successfully re-engineered the geogrid structure by creating a revolutionary new product specifically designed for trafficked surfaces. With its unique triangular structure, TriAx Geogrid leverages its triangular geometry, one of construction’s most stable shapes, to further reduce required aggregate thicknesses – and thus costs – while maintaining or improving the structure’s overall performance. Not only does TriAx Geogrid allow access and construction in less than ideal situations, it also simplifies installation since it is lightweight, easy to handle and requires no specialized labor or equipment. For more information on Tensar TriAx Geogrid or other Tensar Systems, call 800-TENSAR-1, visit www.tensarcorp.com or email info@tensarcorp.com.

EnviroGrid Cellular Confinement It is well known that an ideal soil material for use in civil engineering applications is one that compacts well and still drains water freely. The problem is that the better draining soils are difficult to confine in place. The Geo Products EnviroGrid provides the means to confine good draining soils. Sizes:

2

4” x 8.4’ x 21.4’ (180 Square Feet/Roll) 6” x 8.4’ x 21.4’ (180 Square Feet/Roll) 8” x 8.4’ x 21.4’ (180 Square Feet/Roll) 6” x 8.4’ x 27.4’ (230 Square Feet/Roll)

SLOPE EROSION PROTECTION

An EnviroGrid placed on a steep slope holds the fill material in place. Also, the cell walls slow the flow of water down the slope. This action reduces or eliminates the formation of rills which are a major cause of soil erosion. In addition, water trapped in the cells will seep down through the fill soil, which promotes deep root growth. EnviroGrid may also be installed on slopes subject to wave action. In addition, EnviroGrid is an economic and aesthetic alternative to gabion baskets.

CHANNEL WALL PROTECTION

Typically, engineers specify the use of large riprap to control erosion of channel walls. EnviroGrid provides three major benefits for channel wall erosion protection. In channels where water velocities are under 6 ft/sec, EnviroGrid allows the placement of soil infill with grass cover or small rock on slopes that would normally be too steep to hold the rock. When velocities exceed 6 ft/sec, EnviroGrid is filled with concrete.

EARTH RETENTION STRUCTURE

GROUND STABILIZATION

Use of EnviroGrid can significantly reduce the amount and/or quality of aggregates required to stabilize a poor load bearing soil. The cell walls keep the aggregates from being pushed away from the applied load. Because the filled cells are connected together, the panel acts like a large mat. Applied loads are spread over an extended area instead of directly at the point of contact.

In very steep slope applications where it is not feasible to place the cell panels on the slope face, soils can be retained with an EnviroGrid vertical wall structure. An EnviroGrid section filled with local soils is used in both cut and fill situations. The cells not only hold the soil in place, they also provide drainage throughout the structure. An EnviroGrid gravity wall is constructed by filling the cells with onsite soils.

Xeripave Super Pervious Pavers are a sustainable solution to water runoff!

2

Xeripave SP Pavers are designed to infiltrate stormwater through the surface into the soil below where the water is naturally filtered and gross pollutants are removed. Xeripave porous segmental pavers are ideally suited as a practical long-term alternative to impervious materials. Xeripave products integrate with the environment to perform the same core function as traditional hardscape products, yet provide additional pervious benefits. They allow rainfall to drain through the body of the paver and be absorbed by the underlayment, recharging ground water supplies. Xeripave is used for various applications in commercial and residential projects. The pavers are versatile and are available in a wide range of colors, designs, sizes and shapes. Pavers are uniform in size. Xeripave is inert when cured, and is unaffected by salt or UV. Pavers will not fade in color and do not deteriorate in freeze/thaw environments.

Geofoam

Geofoam is used as an expanded polystyrene that is an ultra-lightweight fill material used for sites with poor load-bearing foundation solids, reduction of lateral pressure on vertical walls, and stress reduction on underground structures and/or utilities. Geofoam is also used to control temperature and/or frost protection.

A Modern Solution For Age-Old Problems

Applications

Expansion Joint poly Foam Roll

Expansion Joint poly Foam Sheet

Geofoam provides cost-effective solutions where conventional construction methods have failed or shown sub-standard performance. Unlike traditional engineering and construction practices that work to resist the forces of nature, geofoam is designed to work with them. Geofoam's success derives from the fact that it is often more cost-effective to reduce the forces acting on a structure or foundation soil than it is to reinforce them to withstand the forces that would exist without geofoam substitution.

Expansion Joint poly Foam Roll is a flexible, lightweight, non-staining, polyethylene closed-cell expansion joint filler. It is a chemical-resistant, ultraviolet stable, non-absorbent, low-density, economical, compressible foam, that offers an extended service life in both interior and exterior applications. Expansion Joint poly Foam Roll is made with a convenient pre-scored "removable" strip to provide a uniform sealing reservoir in the joint.
