Certificate in Understanding the Principles of Dementia Care Level 3 Aged 19+ at the beginning of the academic year

There are 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK today, with this number expected to rise to over one million by 2025. The Level 3 Certificate in Understanding the Principles of Dementia Care enables learners to develop knowledge and understanding of caring for individuals with dementia. It allows learners to develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of dementia and its effects. Learners will gain an understanding of the types of dementia, the importance of early diagnosis and the role of communication, interaction and inclusion in dementia care and support.

Certificate in Understanding Mental Health Level 3 Aged 19+ at the beginning of the academic year

The mental health crisis is becoming increasingly prevalent in the UK, with 1 in 4 adults experiencing a mental health problem every year. The Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health is designed to provide a greater awareness of mental health issues and the importance of mental well-being. Learners will build a knowledge base that can be used in a variety of occupational roles, gaining an understanding of the skills needed to work in mental health services, the importance of addressing mental health problems, and how legislation and publicity are changing attitudes towards those seeking treatment.

Certificate in Understanding Autism Level 3 Aged 19+ at the beginning of the academic year

More than 1 in every 100 people in the UK have an autism diagnosis. The Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Autism is designed for learners who want to increase their knowledge and understanding of the condition, and the challenges and strengths that autistic people may experience. You will learn about characteristics, diagnosis and how understanding and different theories surrounding autism have developed over time. Within this qualification, the term ‘autism’ is used as an umbrella term for all autistic spectrum conditions, including Asperger syndrome.

Certificate in Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes Level 3 Aged 19+ at the beginning of the academic year

There are 3.6 million people in the UK that have been diagnosed with diabetes, and it is estimated that 46% of people who are living with diabetes are undiagnosed. Although diabetes can be life changing, many cases of diabetes can be managed by simple lifestyle changes. The Level 3 Certificate in Care and Management of Diabetes aims to increase understanding and awareness of diabetes, particularly for those working in the health and social care sector.


Diploma in Counselling Skills Level 3 Aged 19+ at the beginning of the academic year

NHS figures show 1.6m people were referred for talking therapies for anxiety or depression during 2018-19. People may find counselling helpful at different points in their lives, including for their mental health, when experiencing bereavement or loss, when processing significant life events, or overcoming trauma. If you would like to support people to improve their well-being, the Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills is a great way to build knowledge and skills. The course is designed to support learners that are using counselling skills as part of their functional role in a wide range of sector areas, or looking to progress towards accredited counsellor status with one of the counselling professional accrediting bodies.

Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care Level 3 Aged 19+ at the beginning of the academic year

End of life care provides support for people approaching death, enabling them to live their lives as well as possible until they die. The Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care looks at the knowledge and understanding of the key principles of caring for patients approaching the end of their lives in a wide range of care settings, including hospices, care homes, care in the community and primary care. The qualification focuses on the common questions and themes in end of life care. It also provides learners with an understanding of how to support a person’s familial, spiritual, social and emotional needs.
