Corbin Eugene Rome, a beautiful baby boy, was born November 3 rd, 1977 to Deborah A. Barton

and the late Eugene Rome. Before he could walk, his dad put a football in his hands and a Raider fan was born. His uncles Reginald, Donnell, Ivy, John, and the late Henry Barton helped to guide the competitive Raider inside young Corbin. His aunts Patricia, Alice, Faye and Gladys (who has transitioned) cheered Corbin into being a well-rounded compassionate young man. On a sunny, Sunday in April of 1989 Corbin accepted our Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and King under the leadership of the Late Rev. T.M. Henderson at Mt Pleasant MB Church. He was devoted to serving Christ until he transitioned home to be with our Lord. Rome as he was affectionately known played football at Humes Jr. High and Northside High school. He graduated from Northside High school in 1996. He continued his education at Lane College were his love for football continued to grow. It was around that same time that he began to explore Rap Music and embarked on several music projects under the name Lil’ Corb. Corbin was an explosive poet. He pinned poems for every occasion. His endearing smile was a finishing touch to every spoken word he rendered.

Brother of many—he is often described this way; he took pride in being the guardian of two beautiful sisters Jocelyn and Jennifer. A younger brother, Kovie who shares a handsome resemblance to their father, Mario, “Latt”, “Herc”, and Teddy were and are his brothers. The bonds of friendship brought Corbin even more brothers: Rico, O’neil, Moses, T.J., Larry, LeRoi and Charles he would also greet as brothers. Corbin loved people—he never met a stranger and no matter how bad his day was going he would always smile. In April of 2012 Corbin married Talondra Woodard and to this union one beautiful son, Jace was born. Corbin was ecstatic about being a father. His stepdaughter Jada and stepson Jason brought him a sense of family and responsibility. He coached and mentored several young men until his departure: Cortez Jr., Drew, Mario Jr., and many others who he taught to lift weights and elevate their thinking past the streets of Memphis. New beginnings we must face as we look to heaven knowing Corbin is in his rightful place. On April 1st, 2014, Corbin waved goodbye to us and embraced our lord. Facing tomorrow with Corbin’s memory his loving Mother Deborah, his son Jace Rome, his wife Talondra, his grandmother Emma Rome, a great aunt Lily, his sisters Jocelyn and Jennifer, his brothers Covey, Teddy, Mario, Brian, Earnest, and Donell Jr. and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who are too numerous to name.
