FEBRUARY 2021
#BrookwoodStrong Hello Parents, Families, and Community Members, Longwood families, your patience is much appreciated as we work through the details of in-person learning. The district is continuously reviewing plans to keep all students and staff safe while providing appropriate instruction. The district is planning to provide in-person instruction beginning on February 23. You can choose to have your child remain in remote learning or come to school for in-person learning. Parents must make that decision by Thursday, February 4, 2021. Please contact the office on how to make your decision. f

Longwood Presents from Historical Perspectives for Children: Wilma Rudolph—Olympic Champion Stream Online February 19, 2021 Wilma Rudolph contracted polio as a little girl and was told she would never walk normally again. Through her own determination and the love of her family, she overcame this fate and was the first in her family of 22 children to go to college. She studied hard and ran track, learning how to lose with grace and improve with practice. Her tenacious spirit propelled her to become the first woman in the US to win three gold medals in the Olympics (1960) in track, a truly astonishing feat. She then graduated from college and became a teacher, mentor and coach throughout the United States, encouraging students like yours to be positive, work hard & believe in themselves to achieve their own dreams & goals. f
