O BJ E C T Systems Studio |Spring 2015 ___ Professor | Matias del Campo Collaborators | Steven Scharrer, Ava Farab Experimenting with the manipulation and nesting of objects within objects, Antumbra, embodies the human experience of composed duality and object interaction as a luxury apartment complex and data cave. The project explores symmetry, the creation of mood and environment, evolution, and reflection through plan, section, light, color, and geometric form.

N E T W O R Ks Networks Studio | Fall 2014 ___ Professor | Ana Morcillo Palleres An experiment on density, reforming the urban condition, and exploring movement and circulation, Re-illuminated is a community center for education, support for young women in need, and promotion for athletics, design, and entrepreneurial advances. The system of rooms and programs serves as an anchor to the site, uniting public and private, community and individual, in Milwaukee Junction, Detroit. The design emphasizes public and private through layering and visibility, with a play on interstitial space, views and connections, and guided flexibility - allowing the community to use the spaces as needed.

I N T EN T I O N Capstone Studio | Spring 2014 ___ Professor | Mara Marcu

Exploring the concept of unit, instantiation, repetition and manipulation, the etherial tower seeks to provide a haven for MLS sufferers, a self-sustaining place where they can be independent and live with the movement they are fighting to keep and control. It seeks to renew their freedom and optimism. The design is light and motivated through alternative forms of circulation, while straddling one of the largest public symbols of collaboration and circulation in NYC: the Highline.

DINING

Based on patterning, form, and program, two repeating modular units are used repetitively based on multiple elementary connection techniques to create a rotating, complex structure. The exterior unit creates the shell and drives the rotating form, while the interior unit adds support and connection, further creating structure and space continuity. The resulting structure is then further twisted and manipulated based on the units’ innate formal logics.

P L A C E H O L D E R Fellowship Exhibition | Spring 2015 ___ Professor | Ana Morcillo Pallares Collaborators | Steven Scharrer, Guarav Sardana, Jonathan Rule “Placeholders explores alternative uses of Detroit’s available space through interventions that hold, denote or reserve a space for public use. Using mechanisms of donation, purchase, temporary use and other means, alternative uses of vacant space and its maintenance has been made possible. The study incorporates eleven initiatives that are not driven by economic priorities but by the need to resolve space deficits for education, recreation, contemplation, nutrition, and communication.

P R O P O S I T I O N S Propositions Studio | Fall 2015 ___ Professor | Anya Sirota Collaborators | Jaxine Chang, Megan Peters Propositions involves re-examining vernacular elements and details, exploring their characteristics and craft, and reapplying the architectural hand to their domestic application. Vernacular insulation types, spray foam in particular, are examined for their value and lack of aesthetic contribution and re-imagined as a form of decorative and materially expressive heat barrier technique.

Elevatus (SSA) Architecture ___ Summer 2014| Fort Wayne, IN

SchenkelShultz Architecture is a full service architecture firm that specializes in education, aviation, municipal, justice, and community facility design. I participated in the design of Sycamore Hills Golf Club, Blackhawk Christian School, and the Fort Wayne FBO. Sycamore Hills involved a large renovation and addition to a recreational club, in which I was heavily involved in the SD phase.

| 46 |

| 47 |

The Fort Wayne FBO was an RFI from the Fort Wayne International Airport for a new construction project. Elevatus (Schenkelshultz) Architecture won the commission for the FBO out of a shortlist of several local firms. I was involved in 3d Sketch-Up and Revit modeling, programming, drawing, and graphics, and material assignment and exploration for the original submittal.

AS G G Adrian Smith Gordon Gill ___ Fall 2013| Chicago, IL Collarborators | Elam Reims, Jorge Soler, and Carlo Parente

Adrian Smith Gordon Gill LLP is a high profile architectural design firm located in Chicago, IL.. Their work focuses on high performance design using innovative techniques, programs, and problem solving. They specialize in multi-use mega-highrises. Qintai international tower is a multi-use skyscraper located in China, to be used as the offices for a Tobacco company and a hotel. The concept for the building and landscaping was grounded in local cultural influences. The landscape was designed as a mixture

M M A Michael McInturf Architects ___ Spring 2012 | Cincinnati, OH

Michael McInturf Architects is a small firm in downtown Cincinnati, focusing on innovative technologies and design in individualized projects to best meet each client’s needs and desires. Working Table 40 is my contribution to a proposal for the MMA office redesign. Driven from movement studies and body proportions of employees, the undulation and curves are designed to provide the optimum working environment.
