From turf to mud, select the combination that best ﬁts your terrain, choose from 2x4 or 4x4 with open rear differential or locked rear differential to go anywhere with conﬁdence. Combined with 10 in. (25.4 cm) of front and rear suspension travel and 11 in. (27.9 cm) of ground clearance, it makes it capable and comfortable.

Our exclusive progressive auto-locking front differential constantly monitors front-wheel speed. If it detects one wheel spinning faster than the other, it sends more power to the wheel with better traction. The rider doesn’t have to do anything to activate it. And the Visco-Lok auto-locking front differential comes without a speed limiter, unlike some competitors’ differentials.

This welded-steel frame incorporates proven processes and proprietary geometry to deliver unequaled structural integrity, improved durability and precision handling. The only independent rear suspension that eliminates scrub and camber changes, the wheels pivot straight up and down rather than in a butterﬂy motion like competitors’ systems. So, the vehicle moves only in the direction you point it. There’s also an external sway bar for more controlled body roll in turns.

We don’t just put a seat onto an excellently performing machine, we design the entyre vehicle around you. The seat position and cushion are designed to maximize comfort and offer an optimal position for the rider so you can keep going on the trail. Rotax engines were ﬁrst equipped on Ski-Doo snowmobiles starting in 1962 and Bombardier acquired the Austrian-based company in 1970. Since then, Rotax engines have become some of the most sought after engines, admired for their precision, performance and reliability. They’re not only the heart of BRP vehicles, but the choice for premier karts and ultralight aircraft, even superbikes, motorcycles and scooters made by other companies. For 2016, Rotax engineers optimized and upgraded nearly every engine used in the Can-Am off-road lineup, so you get a performance edge no matter which vehicle you ride.

MORE POWER, MORE TORQUE

We started the ultra-performance movement with our Rotax 800R. And now we’re taking it to a whole new level. Displacement is now 854cc and we added technology from the Maverick side-by-side, including larger throttle body for more torque and the state-of-the-art cylinder head. It results in 10% more power, 7% more torque and even more fun.

They say the 500cc class is the industry sweet spot and we’re not shy to say that our 570 – the only V-Twin engine of its category – is on the leading edge, by offering best-in-class power. By increasing both the bore and stroke, we increased torque by 9%. Even with the added horsepower, we retained its smooth power for total control.

Located in place of the front rack, the radiator is kept out of the mud and wears a protective, vented cover, ensuring you’ll be able to enjoy all-day rides in deep goop. The air intake is also relocated high enough to get you in, and out of the mud.

Both engines use speciﬁc gear ratio for more comfort in low-speed riding and better traction when pulling heavy loads.

The only independent rear suspension that eliminates scrub and camber changes, meaning the wheels pivot up and down rather than in a butterﬂy motion. This ensures the vehicle moves only in the direction you point it. Designed to improve traction and optimize transfer of power to the ground. Offering ﬁve-way preload adjustable shocks and 9.3 in. (23.6 cm) of suspension travel, it can soak up rough terrain while keeping the rider comfortable and focused on the trail.

This unique cargo box features two storage levels, 700 lb (318 kg) of capacity and tilt-assist dumping. Its standard removable side panels enable you to create a ﬂatbed in seconds. You can also add accessories such as a cargo cover, log bars, tailgate extension and more.

With the Maverick X ds TURBO, Can-Am is the only OEM to offer the industry’s first factory-installed turbocharger. For 2016, we are going even further, increasing output to an unmatched and industry-leading 131 hp. The CVT system is configured to increase power of the turbocharged engine. It features a driven pulley with a Quick Response System (QRS) and a performance drive pulley. This innovative design reduces friction, providing an instant response and optimum belt clamping for better power transfer. The CVT airflow is optimized to bring more cold air flowing through the pulleys.

The Torsional Trailing arm Independent rear suspension (TTI) delivers stable, responsive performance on the Commander line of side-by-side vehicles. Its exclusive design eliminates scrub and camber changes and lets the rear wheels move straight up and down, as opposed to a butterﬂy-like movement, keeping the vehicle moving precisely in the direction you drive it. It provides 10 in. (25.4 cm) of suspension travel and an integrated, external sway bar to reduce body roll, enhance traction and improve control in turns.

The Torsional Trailing A-Arms rear suspension (TTA) is a compact ﬁve-link suspension, standard on the Maverick, unique in the industry. It eliminates bump steer and minimizes scrub while maximizing bump absorption and tyre-to-ground contact. There’s also less unsprung weight than competitive sport side-by-side vehicles and offers up to 16 in. (40.6 cm) of travel.

Boosting the performance of the proven Rotax 1000R engine with the industry’s ﬁrst factory-installed turbocharger enables the Maverick TURBO to produce an impressive 131 hp. The Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) showcases a redesigned driven pulley with a Quick Response System (QRS) and an improved drive pulley that allows better power transfer and a faster engagement time.

The innovative Torsional Trailing A-arms (TTA) rear suspension is a compact version of a ﬁve-link suspension featuring no bump steer and low scrub. This all translates to a more controlled wheel movement, optimal bump absorption and tyre-to-ground contact for predictable handling. Compact design means low unsprung weight for quicker suspension reaction to changing terrain. Its 16 in. (40.6 cm) of travel will provide a smooth ride at hard-charging paces or in technical terrain.

These 14-in. (35.6 cm) aluminum beadlock wheels use a mechanical fastening system that makes it nearly impossible for the tyre bead to break loose from the wheel during heavy acceleration or cornering. Proven 28-in., 6-ply Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tyres feature sturdy lugs and a non-directional tread pattern for a smooth and conﬁdent ride over a variety of surfaces. (Available on X ds and X rs packages)
