WSS – round Nurburgring Chaz Davies and the Team Yamaha ParkinGo guys, together with us, are closer to win the World Championship. Chaz was first also in Nurburgring, after an hard fought race and some spectacular comeback. Now the rider is leader in the general standings with 59 points ahead of the Kawasaki rider David Salom and 60 of the Honda rider Fabien Foret. This is a very good advantage that will allow him to win the Championship just on the next round in Imola, before 3 races to the end of the season. A very good race also for Luca Scassa, fourth at the finish line, thus showing to have recovered the good start of the season. The Italian rider, like his teammate, was trooped at the start but he was able to recover step by step; after struggling with his countryman Massimo Roccoli, Luca arrived fourth and Roccoli fifth. Chaz Davies - Yamaha YZF R6 #7 - "It has been an hard race. After two good practice days, once the race has started I lost a lot of positions. When I was at around the 10th place, I got worried but I did not lose my concentration so to recover step by step. I reached Ellison, leading the race at that time, and I tried to pass him. I noticed that the bike missed some traction so I preferred to close any gap to James up to the finish line. Even if my advantage in the general standings is big, me and the team will keep the concentration till our goal will be reached”. Luca Scassa - Yamaha YZF R6 #9 (in the picture) - "It has been a good race, I lost the podium by a whisker. After a bad start and being passed by a lot of riders, I was able to recover positions and in the same time my feeling to the bike. When I reached Roccoli I tried to pass him, I got it only after a couple of unsuccessful attempts, it was hard and at the end I gave up to pass also Lowes for the third position. I’m looking forward to recovering in Imola, one of my most favorite tracks”. Giuliano Rovelli - team owner - "After a bad start, our both riders were able to recover and this was really exciting. Besides the risks, Chaz rode without making any calculations and it was exciting to see him going from the tenth to the first position in just three laps. This rationality and vision of the race belong just to great champions. I’m also happy to see again Luca in first positions and his very good race; his second place in the championship is surely within his reach!”
