Dr. Fred Dodge, aged 90, died on April 3, 2022 at home, embraced by his wife and daughter. Survivors include his wife Karen, 4 children, 2 step children, 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his ex-wife Aiko “Sparrow” Dodge. He liked to be called “Fred.”

He was a faithful community healer as the first director of the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center in 1975.

In seeking a holistically healthy place, he realized that there existed an ongoing injustice with the bombing of Makua Valley to which he fought fiercely against ongoing atrocities. This was one of his most passionate legacies lasting decades.

Fred loved hiking, straight jazz, standing for peace and justice, long walks, plays, movies, travel, exploring, reading and being with family. Fred chose to donate his body to the UH Medical School. May he rest in ALOHA.
