Speedy Child Abuse Cases SB 886 SD1 HMS, JDC Requires the court and prosecution to take appropriate action to ensure a “prompt trial” to minimize the length of time a child abuse victim or minor witness must endure the stress involved with legal proceedings.

Provides judges greater discretion to adjust past due fines or financial circumstances by a person who violates certain traffic offenses based on inability to pay.

SCR 26 / SR 15 GVO Establishes October 11th as Hawaii’s Day of the Girl in observation of the international awareness of the challenges faced by girls in the US.

Also amends the amount each OHA candidate must raise in order to qualify for public election funding support.

OHA Elections- Randomized Ballots SB 238 SD1 HWN, JDC Amends ballot requirements to display candidate for trustees by residency & non-residency AND to randomize the order within those grouping.

OHA Elections- Head-to-Head Races SB 890 SD1 HWN, JDC Requires that TWO of the FOUR At-Large OHA trustees to have a rural district residency requirement while the other TWO At-Large board of trustees be from an urban district.

OHA ISLAND BURIAL COUNCIL (RESO) Studies the benefits/impact of transferring the jurisdiction of the Island Burial Council (IBC) from the DLNR to OHA.
