We strongly believe the end product of the beef industry is the most important. Regardless of which sector you’re in, the combination of quality genetics alongside good management practices makes the difference in any cattleman’s bottom line.
Since 2001, we have sold our fed cattle through U.S. Premium Beef (USPB), a producer-owned marketing company that provides incentive for high quality beef products through quality-based grid pricing.
Before joining USPB, we felt like the cattle we were selling were above average; but our commitment to genetics and feed management weren’t rewarded.
Carcass data from the first years showed 88% Choice and 34.3% CAB or prime, which was more than double the national average at the time. After 20 years of tracking the data and making sound genetic selections, we’re still improving: most recently, 350 head graded 99.98% Choice and 23% Prime.
