The Boy Who Falls off the Water Slide by John Burdett
THE LOWER SCHOOL NEWSPAPER
Brunswick Beacon Art Link by Ty Pastore Growing up in the United States means many significant things to me. One thing is Christmas. I love Christmas because we get to choose a pine tree to put in our house. It’s called a Christmas tree. We decorate it by putting little glass balls on it called ornaments. At the very top, we put a gold star that s y m b o l i z e s t h e N o r t h S t a r. Christmas is a holiday where we remember Jesus. Another thing I like are my pets. I have a dog, and believe me she’s cute. Her name is Rosy. I also have a fish named Spiral. I used to have a goldfish, but he died. I usually get around by car. I use cars because gas is easy to buy and there are gas stations all over America. I also use cars because there are roads everywhere. My favorite sport is basketball. I’ve been playing basketball since I was three years old! Now I’m nine! That’s six years! My favorite position is point guard. All these things make my home, America, great.

Ulimate Spiderman by Ahmad Al-Maqtari Once upon a time there was a teenager named Peter Parker. Everyone thought he was a nerd, but when he went on a field trip a spider escaped from its tank. Then the spider was hit by a laser and it bit Peter. It changed his life. Peter went outside and out his hand to a wall. He started to climb like a spider! Next, Peter jumped from building to building. He would shoot a web from his wrist and swing. He crashed into a sign and fell. Peter got up and walked to his house. He decided to call himself the spectacular spiderman.
Growing up in the United States means many important things to me. I have 2 dogs out of my 4 pets. One of the dog’s names is Petey. He’s a boy and he is 6 years old. The other dog is Lucy. She is 3 years old, she is really naughty. I have really cool dogs. My whole family loves baseball. My Dad and I usually go to Yankee games. We almost caught 2 balls. Almost. I plat on my own baseball team, we did not win a lot of games, but I had fun. I love baseball! On every Friday in the Jewish religion, we celebrate Shabbat. Shabbat is a holiday that is in honor of God for creating stuff on earth. On Shabbat, some of the stuff we eat and drink are grape juice, challah, wine, and a lot of kosher food. We go to my Grandma and Grandpa’s house. Shabbat is one really neat holiday. To go to places my Mom and Dad have a car. My Dad’s car isn’t that cool in there because he doesn’t want his car to end up likes my mom’s car. My mom’s car is super messy, but cool because it has two video games, and a TV and radio. My parents have cool cars. The USA rocks!
