Boucherie Grateful to World Brush Expo Visitors

Boucherie extends its gratitude to all who visited their booth at the World Brush Expo in Bologna. The energy and the enthusiasm from visitors was a wonderful reward for the effort put into preparations for the show. It was great to spend time, talk business and leisure and have a beer and a bite with industry professionals. There was plenty to be seen and experienced in the booth:

The Hepta-FM/R is a conventional toothbrush manufacturing machine, but it has a special tufting unit that uses plastic anchor plates instead of metal ones. This way, it is possible to make completely recyclable brushes, and by choosing the materials carefully, to make brushes that are completely made of one type of plastic.

The PTt 2.0 machine for the production of anchorless toothbrushes had a complete upgrade with a new fibrebox, a faster filling tool and new tufting shuttles that will allow an output of up to 40 brushes per minute.

The Hepta-2-FM machine is a high-output toothbrush machine with two filling tools that each run at 1200 tufts per minute. It can be completely automated and gives the highest ratio of brushes per square meter of any machine available on the market.

The IDM machine for the production of interdental and mascara brushes is now available with a special spreading system for the filaments that give a much more consistent brush head, even when working with thinly spread very fine filaments. The output is up to 100 high-quality brushes per minute.

The AVT-E machine is a very simple and compact toothbrush machine for anchorless toothbrushes, with a very high output for its size. The machine can be automated, and will manufacture electrical toothbrush heads of high quality at a very high speed.

The FRM machine is a high-precision cutting- and endrounding machine for toothbrush filaments. It produces the pucks of end-rounded filament that are used in the AVT machines.

The Illig range of packaging machines was presented as well. The HSU-35 is a compact and modular packaging machine for full-carton blisters. The HSU-650 makes full-carton blisters and is fast enough to process the products coming from several tufting machines. For both machines, Boucherie builds automatic infeed systems to boost the efficiency even more.

Boucherie is grateful for the opportunity to connect with industry peers and showcase their latest innovations. The positive feedback and interactions at the World Brush Expo inspire continued excellence and innovation.

“In recent years, Oliver Frese has not only led the Cologne event portfolio through the difficult phase of the corona pandemic but has also equipped the market-related areas of sales, services and marketing communication with a new operating model,” says Gerald Böse, CEO of Koelnmesse. "Together with the International division, he has also successfully implemented global portfolio responsibility in trade fair management in recent years. I would like to thank Oliver Frese for his very successful work and am convinced that Koelnmesse will continue on its growth path with him.”

the New 2025 PARTS FINISHING Tradeshow

Never before has the industry changed as quickly as it does today, and that trend is having an impact on the requirements of tradeshows. Accordingly, the DeburringEXPO organizers have announced that it will no longer be held as an independent event in the future but will be merged into the new PARTS FINISHING trade fair.

Hartmut Herdin

The first edition of this new event will be held November 12-13, 2025, and will combine the topics of deburring technologies, component cleaning and surface finishing, and will be held at the Karlsruhe Exhibition Center in Karlsruhe, Germany.

“After many discussions with exhibitors at DeburringEXPO and intensive observation of the development of DeburringEXPO for various trade fairs, we have decided to no longer hold the trade fair as an independent event,” says Hartmut Herdin, managing director of the private trade fair organizer fairXperts GmbH & Co. KG.

In the future, the topic of deburring technologies will be bundled with the areas of component cleaning and surface finishing in the new, two-day PARTS FINISHING trade fair. Surface finishing includes, among other things, the process steps of fine and ultra-fine grinding, polishing, honing, lapping, mass finishing, blasting and brushing.

Global Shop Solutions Digitally Transforms How Manufacturers Work With Dashboard Designer Feature

As the manufacturing industry continues to grow more complex, manufacturers are becoming more dependent on accessing operational and financial data the way they want to see it. Global Shop Solutions, a leading provider of ERP software, is improving transparency for manufacturers with the Dashboard Designer feature. This innovative feature makes it easy to design, customize, track and display data in formats that meet the unique business needs of manufacturers.

“Dashboard Designer is a no-code data analysis tool manufacturers can use across their organization,” says Dusty Alexander, President and CEO of Global Shop Solutions. “Manufacturers can tailor Dashboards to their own specifications by dragging and dropping features directly onto the screen. If they know Excel they can easily tailor just about anything they want to do in the Dashboard Designer.”

One of the newest Dashboard Designer features fulfills an urgent need for manufacturers by displaying shop floor metrics on interactive TV screens located on the shop floor. Personnel no longer have to search for production data because it is always in front of them. Five times faster than running a report, the interactive TV screens have proved so efficient that the Dashboard Designer team created a “sister” Report Designer to generate faster, more customized reports.

Global Shop Solutions also hosts a user community where companies with a Dashboard Designer license can download, implement and edit existing Dashboard designs at no cost.

Koelnmesse Expands Hardware Trading Presence to Colombia

With a strategic movement that enriches the panorama of industrial trade fairs in Latin America, Koelnmesse, in collaboration with Corferias and Concept2b, is now part of “El Gran Salón Ferretero,” a premier event in the hardware sector, which recently took place in Corferias, Bogotá on July 12-13, 2024. The event was held for the first time under this new alliance and welcomed more than 230 exhibitors and around 9,000 visitors.

El Gran Salón Ferretero

This new chapter for the hardware industry in the region reinforces Koelnmesse’s leadership in the organization of international trade fairs.

“I am delighted to invest the expertise we have acquired with our successful Cologne model EISENWARENMESSE in this promising joint venture in Colombia,” says Gerald Böse, CEO of Koelnmesse. “This will enable us to support our customers in the Latin American market and create synergies between our events in Cologne and abroad. An absolute win-win situation for everyone involved.”

Some EISENWARENMESSE customers have already expressed their interest in the market. In addition to EISENWARENMESSE since 1971 and Asia-Pacific Sourcing since 2005 in Cologne,

Germany, as well as the China International Hardware Show in Shanghai, China, Koelnmesse is now expanding its presence to the Americas. “The new joint venture is the sixth hardware event in our portfolio and an important milestone in our internationalization strategy,” says Böse.

In 2023, the International Hardware Fair Italy, in Bergamo, Italy and the International Hardware Fair India in New Delhi, India, also debuted as two satellite events.

Colombia stands out on the world stage as one of the 30 most attractive countries for foreign investment and is among the five largest economies in Latin America. In this position, it can offer privileged access to the Latin American and Caribbean markets. The country benefits from a complex port system that optimizes connectivity and access to a variety of operators and services. This environment is ideal for “El Gran Salón Ferretero” to capitalize on these geographical and economic advantages, serving as a vital meeting point for the sector.

According to Statista, the Colombian tool and hardware store market projects revenues that will reach 12.66 billion euros in 2024, with an annual growth rate of 2.68 percent until 2028. This sustained growth shows a clear trend: the growing interest of Colombian consumers in home improvement and building projects, which in turn drives demand for construction tools and materials.

In its ongoing journey of growth and expansion, El Gran Salón Ferretero will extend to three days in its next edition, to be held from November 6-8, 2025. This edition aims to create more opportunities for exhibitors and visitors, offering innovations and trends that will continue to pave the way for the hardware sector in Latin America and the Caribbean.
