There’s Music in the Water

Few sights are as peaceful as a cascade of water flowing down ancient rock and bordered by lush green moss. Explore the many picturesque waterfalls in the Bryson City area and experience a sense of serenity like no other.

INDIAN CREEK, TOMS BRANCH, & JUNEYWHANK FALLS

This trio of waterfalls is accessed via an easy to moderate 2.5-mile hike within the Deep Creek section of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Mingo Falls

At 120 feet tall, this waterfall is one of the tallest in the southern Appalachians. A climb of 161 steps and a short trail will get you to this stunning waterfall in Cherokee, NC.

Soco Falls

This impressive double waterfall is a hidden gem. Located east of Cherokee on U.S. 19, a short trail ends at a viewing platform. For a closer view, continue down a steep trail to the base of the waterfalls.

Nantahala Cascades

The Upper Nantahala River is a beauty to behold and boasts a series of cascades that begins 1000 feet above the gorge floor. Most of the cascades are easily seen from Wayah Road.

Around The Area

There are numerous waterfalls in the nearby towns of Highlands and Cashiers, including Dry Falls, Glen Falls, Silver Run Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Whitewater Falls, and Cullasaja Falls.
