I grew up with immigrant parents who loved to cook.
To this day the smells, tastes, and language surrounding our kitchen comfort me. Many have comfort foods, but I realized that far too few have great relationships with healthy foods, cooking themselves, and struggle to feel at home in their own kitchen.
Food is a basic human need which allows us to connect with people who are similar or different from us, and allows for deep culturaI roots to either stagnate or flourish. Asking others whether they have eaten yet seeks to fulfuil a basic human need while building a relationship with them.
