design inspiration. When starting this project, we first looked at the many detrimental effects covid caused across the world. One that stuck with me was the devasting impacts isolation affecting people of all ages. Studies show pro-longed isolation has a negative effect on health and well-being. It can cause an increase in depression, anxiety and stress, and can affect quality of sleep. These factors and the vast numbers of people suffering made me pose the question that drove my project design.

People are feeling lonely in these times and need outlets. Relationships between generations benefit all users in a unique way. People on both sides are provided with the opportunity to learn from each other. Older adults gain a sense of purpose from these relationships and they help prevent the risk of isolation and loneliness. These connections matter as the pandemic is especially isolating for elderly, as they are most at risk.

Reflection allows the brain to pause amidst the chaos of life, a person can look neutrally at their thoughts, emotions, and choices. It allows a person to contemplate and sort past experiences, create meaning and understanding from them, resulting in learning. This learning helps develop creative thinking skills that inform future mindsets and actions.

Storytelling benefits users mentally and emotionally. It can reduce stress, prevent burnout, and other negatives like depression, and anxiety. This render shows small groups of people sharing stories and using glass as a canvas. Share pods have a speaker opening for talking to users in other cubes.

On the mezzaine level, there is a pause area. Users can see the journey they had and reflect on the day or the past year and learn. Users can pause amidst the chaos of life and ponder their experiences, giving the brain the opportunity to interpret, create meaning, and learn.
