The Responsible Cleaning Provider Scheme (RCPS) is for companies working in the contract cleaning sector. RCPS members have come together to protect and promote the welfare and development of their employees; to make sure their experience and capabilities are recognised and developed; and to promote the professionalisation of the industry itself. To help achieve these goals RCPS members have signed up to a series of commitments. The focus of the commitments is on valuing, recognising and rewarding the hard work and dedication of RCPS members’ employees. Sixteen companies have signed up to the RCPS, representing over 130,000 employees. Mark Fox, Chief Executive of the BSA:
“This is an important commitment by BSA members involved in the cleaning industry. It represents the seriousness with which they take good practice and professional development. In its first year, the scheme received support and praise from across the sector. As it evolves to reflect changes to the industry and recommendations from the Equality and Human Rights Commission, it demonstrates that BSA members remain engaged and active in promoting responsible working.”
Lauren Kyle, Head of Cleaning for Sodexo UK & Ireland, Chairman of the BSA Cleaning Committee:
“It’s been extremely encouraging to see how well the Responsible Cleaning Provider Scheme has been received in its first year and this next phase of its development is another positive step forward for the industry. The scheme recognises the essential contribution of cleaning operatives, supervisors, and managers to making our society a cleaner and safer place. Its ongoing development demonstrates the collective will and commitment within BSA member organisations to highlight the value and raise the profile of our people working in cleaning. This is a great scheme for the industry and everyone involved in it.”
