Meet Your Head of Year
MEET YOUR
HEAD OF YEAR
Dear Parents,
I would like to welcome all our new students and returning students to Year 8 here at The British School Al Khubairat. For the new parents my name is Mr Carr and I am responsible for overseeing the academic progress and pastoral care of the Year 8 student body for 2021/2022.
Enhancing the positive well-being of all students in our care is a fundamental priority to me and I am excited about working with all of you and the excellent Year 8 tutors, to ensure that every child in Year 8 is safe, happy and achieving their true potential. My main aim is for all of us to feel proud of the team we are part of and to work together to have a really successful, enjoyable year. Throughout the year, my hope is that you will feel a sense of pride in being part of the BSAK community and that you will strive to be actively involved in our vibrant culture.
Do take full advantage of the opportunities BSAK will provide for you, we are fortunate to be part of such a thriving environment. I want all of you to feel supported and inspired to exceed expectations and our wish is to celebrate your individual success together, as the year unfolds.
Your form tutors will play a hugely important role in your development through your Year 8 journey and will be there, as someone who will help support and nurture you to thrive. They will also be the first point of contact if you have any pastoral or academic concerns and will be invested in your success and happiness in Year 8. As your Head of Year, I am always here to listen, if you have any queries or questions.
Finally, establishing strong relationships between parents, tutors and the Head of Year is a vital ingredient in the future success of students at BSAK.
I want to extend my thanks to all parents, in advance, for providing your support to us as a team and I look forward to working with you all in the new term.
Mr Ruairi Carr
